Mulan is the definition of bada**! Kida is pretty hardcore too and Esmeralda isn't hardcore or a bada** at all. She's actually quite a damsel.

I'm not exactly sure what the definition is but what keeps sticking out in my mind is how Esmeralda always acts around Frollo like when she spit in his face.

Kataralover, don't talk nonsense...Esmeralda is not a damsel. She can take care of herself....

Oh really? In the movie she's been saved by Pheobus, Quasimodo, the priest, the gypsies, random background characters, and her pet goat. Seriously? A goat! Yeah she can really take care of herself, I was so wrong because I know Mulan had to be saved by a goat. Oh wait I'm confusing her with a damsel! People only think she's a bada** because of that one scene where she took out the guards, that's her only bada** moment. She's a regular damsel in my opinion and people won't see it because they love her.

Kida and Esmeralda are tied for badassery for me. Kida's just badass, seriously. I doubt we need a lit for her. Since there's a need to justify Esmeralda's badassery, I will explain for the unenlightened :P ; she did stand up to the Guards, save Quasimodo, defy Frollo, save Phoebus, evade Frollo, humiliate Frollo, etc. The list goes on. I think the list of people who saved her is balanced by the list of people she saves. Waht did you expect her to do? Be unrealistically super human and get herself out of everyithng? Mulan's not so much "badass", more like just awesome. But we all have different ideas of badassery I suppose. :)

Well tell me how many times has Mulan been in trouble where she's needed saving? She's always been the one who saves herself from every situation. Also she doesn't save anybody, she saves Pheobus and helps Quasimodo from getting tormented but that's all. 85% of the time she's the one getting saved constantly. That's coming from someone who loves Kayley who's in the same kind of situation. But Kayley has the right qualities that makes her a bada** and improves. While Emseralda just goes downhill to where she's not that more useful than the classic princesses(but I do like Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora).
