The 100 Most Influential sách Ever Written: The History of Thought from Ancient Times to Today

I am bởi no means a great votary of any kind of "Best" lists and find them too subjective and at times highfalutin. But this danh sách of the 100 most influential & mind-expanding sách ever written seemed quite apposite and all-encompassing. British literary critic & historian Seymour-Smith's survey of what he considers the 100 most influential sách is a searching inquiry into major thinkers, writers and philosophers. Seymour-Smith finds most modernist techniques already present, hoặc anticipated, in Cervantes's Don Quixote, and he các lượt xem Rabelais as the first truly được ưa chuộng writer. His eclectic choice of influential moderns-de Beauvoir, Mao, Orwell, Keynes, Chomsky, cybernetician Norbert Winer, mystic G.I. Gurdjieff, Wittgenstein is unpredictable. I have read some 22 sách in the danh sách and am making painfully slow progress in enriching myself bởi đọc the remaining. It would be interesting to have others opinions of this list.

Tantalize (Cynthia Leitich Smith) was an awsome book. I really enjoyed it. It had me guessing what was going to happen until the very end!

Here is a piece about the book:

Quincie Morris has never felt thêm alone. Her hybrid werewolf first tình yêu threatens to embark on a rite of passage that will separate them forever. And just as she and her uncle are about to unveil Austin's red-hot vampire-themed restaurant, a brutal murder leaves them scrambling for a chef. Can Quincie transform the new hire, Henry Johnson, into a culinary Dark Lord before opening night? Will he be able to to wow the crowd in fake fangs, a cheap cape, and red contact lenses? hoặc is there thêm to his earnest fresh face than meets the eye?

As human and preternatural forces clash a deadly tình yêu tam giác forms and the line between predator and prey begins to blur. Who's playing whom? And how long can Quincie play along before she loses everything?

Also, I highly recommend to read the Hunger Games trilogy.

The genres of the film/ sách is action.

Set in the near future, a girl called Katniss Everdeen volunteered to enter the Hunger Games, a game which is run bởi the government.
24 'tributes' will enter the arena and fight to the death until one person is remaining, who will be the winner.

Read Katniss' fights to stay alive as she battles the other 24 tributes to win her place as the winner.

Watch out for The Hunger Games, everyone will be talking about it within the following year.
Soren is born in the forest of Tyto,a tranquil kingdom where the vựa, chuồng trại, barn Owls dwell. But evil lurks in the owl world, evil that threatens to shatter Tyto's peace and change the course of Soren's life forever.
Soren is captured and taken to a dark and forbidding canyon. It's called an orphanage, but Soren believes it's something far worse. He and his friend Gylfie know that the only way out is up. To escape, they will need to something they have never done before-fly.

I'm excited to be reporting this tid bit of book news to my Fanpop.com readers!

If bạn remember, earlier this year, I reviewed a new book titled 'The Vampire Game: Discovery' written bởi hunky first-time tác giả Les Bailey--which I absolutely adored! (I've read the book 3 times now!)

Well, I now get to báo cáo that there is a great possibility that the novel in câu hỏi will be developed into a major movie!

According to several movie news outlets, the unique vampire tale has generated loads of interest among some of Hollywood's most influential filmmakers--and I can see why.

As I first reported back...
