Hmm.... well, it doesn't really give factoids in different subjects, per say, but I learned a whole lot about fishing while watching Tsuritama. It also has a lot to say about family values and friendship~

~Gintama features alot of japanese history, culture and even folklore and they portray them in their own way.

With the amount of references in this anime I found out about many fun facts (mostly useless facts about actors/actresses with horsey faces) about Nhật Bản during the Edo period and even in modern Nhật Bản today
