anime whose intended demographic surprised you.
Sometimes it can be hard to tell just who an anime is primarily made for. When doing some research, I was surprised in several cases:
Kaleido ngôi sao - I watched the whole hiển thị thinking it was a Shojo, but turns out to be Shonen. Guess I don't expect girl protagonists in boy's anime and involvement of some people who worked on Sailor Moon misled me.
Angelic Layer - Again, I watched all of this thinking it was Shojo, but it's Shonen. Being created bởi CLAMP threw me off and its girl protagonist. But it is a fighting show, so its not too surprising, I just thought it was a fighting hiển thị for girls.
Hoop Days (Dear Boys) - The tiêu đề "Dear Boys" just screams "Shojo" to me, but again, this is actually a standard Shonen sports series.
Kodacha - Because of all the adult language used in the fansub I had originally seen of this, I thought this was an anime for lolicons... But nope, its for girls and the official translation is a lot thêm tame.
Polar chịu, gấu Cafe - This seems like a little kid's show, especially with the seemingly educational word-play, so I thought it might be a Kodomo. But this is actually a Josei for adult women. Which makes sense considering all the alcohol references - I just thought they might have different standards for what they can have in a kid's hiển thị in Japan. Seems like a good hiển thị a mother can watch while her kid's in the room though ^-^. I'm glad that I finally figured out what my yêu thích Josei is though.
Magical Meow Meow Taruto - I thought this might be a little kids hiển thị (Kodomo) hoặc shojo. But it's actually for adult men (Seinen). Those cute shows can be misleading.
Rosario + Vampire - This hiển thị has so much ecchi in it that I thought it was surely for adults (Seinen). But this is actually a Shonen Jump manga, albeit aimed at older boys, I'm sure.
