Even though the historical Pocahontas married John Rolfe & may have had nothing going on with Smith, I think Disney's Pocahontas should be with John Smith, because their romance was so epic, and it was heartbreaking to see them forced to split, and infuriating to see them split up on purpose. Disney's characters are separate entities from the same-named historical figures they were inspired by. All you have to do is take a look at the historical Smith (bearded & a bit ugly) and Disney's Smith (blond and clean-shaven and handsome) and you know they're not one and the same.

I completely agree, they made Pocahontas's relationship with Smith too deep to have Rolfe come in and take his place. I used to be so confused when I was younger because of Rolfe. Now I understand the history behind the story, but I still prefer Smith.

I agree too! Yes the historical Pocahontas married John Rolfe and nothing happened between her and John Smith. However, Disney's Pocahontas is meant to be with John Smith, so making a sequel about her dumping him for John Rolfe was a disgrace to many Disney fans and those who worked hard on the first film. Disney's Pocahontas is meant to be with John Smith-let them be!

I do love Disney's take on Pocahontas & John Smith, and they had become one of my favorite Disney couples...though I don't want to change history

I liked John Smith character better sportive,brave,pride,curious,and smart against John Rolfe nice,stupid,brave and good since of humor.I think Pocahontas fits Smiths personality better just my opinion.

I agree with what everyone else has said. Also, Pocahontas and Smith actually have chemistry. Poca and Rolfe do not.
