“HEY YOU!! Stop running! That’s mine!” I furiously yelled at this unstoppable man.
Of course, all he did was turn his neck and glare at me and today of all days, I would so happen to lose one of the most important things to me….just perfect.
I picked up my legs and forced myself to run after someone who is probably miles ahead of me bởi now, well maybe I exaggerated it a bit. The sky was just perfect, the temperature was quite chilly though. There was a billion buildings I had to run though just to get to this guy. Everyone I passed bởi gave me dirty looks.
Turning the corner, using my senses, I saw him standing tiếp theo to the clothing store, breathing normal. He appeared as if he never moved.
Nonchalantly I walked up to him, “Excuse me sir. I believe bạn accidently took something of mine.”
“No, I would not mistakenly take this. This here is of no use to me, and not to bạn either.” He spoke with a very serene and deep voice.
“But I need it. If I don’t take it, I will die.” I cried out, I was a terminally ill person.
“You will no longer be. Here. Take this,” he handed me a syringe of what looked like blood. “…This will cure you. In return, bạn follow me and do as I tell you.”
“Uh….your crazy. How do I know your not some creeper who just wants to kill me out of some sick satisfaction? Why would bạn need me, someone sick to help You?
“Just take it and trust me….Yes bạn will be killed, at some point….Are bạn not dying already? Why not just take a risk? I wouldn’t need someone who is healthy, I can make them invincible. bạn would have a debt with me. I save your live. bạn in return owe me your life. Simple? Unless bạn are ready to die. The choice remains wholly up to you. So what will it be?”
“Well….now that bạn put it that way, I kind of have nothing to really lose. But still. If this kills me, I will haunt bạn to the ends of the earth and the universe. bạn would regret it….”
I hastily stuck the needle into my arm and injected the blood. That blood which contained life, because after all the blood is life, blood is what keeps us going…
As the blood depleted into my system I threw the syringe. He half smirked and my vision gradually faded in and out, in and out, as I knocked into the ground in what seemed almost like slow motion.
I awoke to a beaming light in my eyes, I tried to raise an arm to shield my eyes, but they would not budge, “What the hell is going on?!” I screamed and began to freak out, trying to break out of whatever was holding me down.
“Relax! Calm down. bạn will be okay. I just strapped bạn into this chair so that bạn would not fall.” slowly he un-cuffed my hands from the chair. “There. Now just relax.”
“Do not EVER, I repeat, EVER. Do that again. I will end you.”
He rolled his blue-green eyes, “I presume that bạn feel better. I checked your vitals; they appear to be in perfect condition now.”
“How? I don’t believe you! bạn can’t be serious that my vitals are perfect…”
“Observe for yourself.” He moved the blinding light out of the way and confirmed to me using the medical scanning equipment. “See?”
“What? How is this possible? What I had was incurable. It was a stage 4 cancer in my brain.”
“You are cured…Now, we have work to do.”
“Thank you….really thank you.” Tears ran down my now- red cheeks, I felt hope for the first time in my life, that I could be someone worth. I then turned to him and hugged him, All he did was look down at me and then look away. I wiped the tears off my eyes and pondered of such a creature that saved me.
“So what are you? …..Who? …..Who are you?”
“I am what bạn would call a superhuman. I am John Harrison.”
“John, I am Roxanne Lancaster at your service.”
“Let us get to work then.”
