Even for a vampire. I mean, unlike most vamps he deliberately seeks out Slayers in order to kill them. Then of course his whole journey is full of strange decisions, obsession, and even a dash of insanity.

At times, yes. Examples are in the beginning of season 7 and before he gets his chip in season 4. But in between and after, Spike makes as much sense as any other character. So, maybe. He does change through-out the show, so it's hard to say.

But does it make sense for a vampire? Most of the time he acts more human than vampire. For instance, there's really not that much difference between Spike with a soul and Spike w/o but Angel and Angelus are two entirely different people. I just think he's a very strange vampire.

From what i have heard i think he is a good candidate for a twisted character :D
