I hate the Harry Potter movies and books and Mary Poppins but I admit they are very well-made, aren't overrated, and deserve all the attention that they get. I do think the character Harry Potter is overrated but the movies/books aren't, they just aren't my thing. They just annoy me because I don't care for the characters and I find them to be SO BORING and repetitive but that's just me.
To be honest what makes something good is just so subjective that I have to say yes. If a thing has fans there was something about said thing that drew each individual fan to it. And so it deserves the attention that the person pays to it.
I don't like Casablanca or Citizen Kane (though I don't hate them), but I realize they're good and influential movies. They just do nothing for me.
There are others, but those are the two that come to mind.
I really don't like any of the Twilight movies or books. I read the books and I will admit at the time I really, really liked them, but then with all the attention they both got, I ended up thinking that the movies were just plain awful and boring and the books were too mainstream and I realized that vampires who sparkled when the sun shined on them was very retarted. I ended up hating them both. And Twilight is the big reason as to why I can't stand Robert Pattinson or Nikki Reed. I just really hate Twilight.
Gone With the Wind and Pokémon come to mind. Though in Gone With the Wind's case, I don't really hate or dislike it. I'm just neutral towards the movie.
