BBC One\'s period drama is gearing up to launch its fourth series later this year, with a fifth expected to follow. However, there\'s been talk from even Aidan Turner that

, Aidan acknowledged that there\'s no official word yet on the future of

"Definitely we\'re going to do season five, we\'re going to shoot the fifth one. After that, I don\'t know," the actor said.

"We\'ll have to see how it all goes, but definitely for five. It\'s kind of one step at a time."

The good news is that Turner also let slip that this year\'s episodes are likely to air much earlier than

"Sooner rather than later [they\'ll air], I imagine," Turner predicted. "I think it\'s probably a different time to last year, it\'s probably earlier from what I can gather.

"They need to finish post-production and all of those sorts of things, so that\'s when I step out."

While that post-production work gets under way, Aidan will be temporarily leaving

behind to make his West End debut as an Irish terrorist in Martin McDonagh\'s
