It’s just a collection of my favorite Nine/Rose stories. It’s pretty long and a few of these fics you’ll recognize from other lists I’ve put together. It’s just every Nine/Rose fic that I adore.

Never Quite Normal: Basically Nine fobwatches himself pretty completely with the help of Classic!Who friends and meets Rose Tyler at a bar. He’s an addict and she’s young and in love and this is seriously one of my all time favorite AUs because Jackie is against the relationship and they mention the age gap AND THE MOST PERF FIRST DATE EVER and also Jessa L\'Rynn wrote it so you know it’s quality.

The Persephone Problem: LOVE IT SO MUCH. Angst. Gen Adventure with Nine/Rose and some UST, i guess, but there are TONS of these adventure type stories with angst and gen and ust and i just–yeah i like these a lot. Series

Alone: Nine immediately post Time War. Heavily introspective and pretty good. tons of angst that makes me wanna cuddle Nine.

The Human Experience: *pterodactyl noises because i somehow missed this in my alt!human nature/family of blood rec list* Nine and Rose hide from the Family and Martha is still there and HNNNG. so good.

Rose Tyler: A Jane Eyre AU: just what the title says. nine is mr. rochester and rose is jane. gorgeous.

Nine while jumping from dimension to dimension. Part of a larger series with more Nine and Ten and Eleven

Ivory and Horn: oh. my. god. so beautiful and a really really good look on nine/rose and their relationship. cannot say enough good things. 

she got up on tiptoes, feeling his breath warm on her cheek. He went very still, and then pulled back. All the light had gone out of his face. “Oh, Rose,” he sighed. “That’s never a good idea.”

On a trip back to London, Rose is kidnapped and Jackie and Nine work together to bring her home. Gen.

Five and a Half Hours Later: Post-GITF. the TARDIS sends Rose back in time and she decides to re-write her timelines with Nine. Retelling of S2 and then some seriously complicated timey wimey stuff, but it’s great.

To Have and To Hold: Rose and Nine accidentally get married but then feelings shift around and no one is sure if it’s a fake marriage or not and there’s miscommunication and angst and then Ten/Rose and it’s fabulous (mostly, a few issues here and there, but willing to overlook for cool fic idea)

Sandals: Not Quite a Love Story: Semi-PWP. Got a dash of plot and arguing and good ole fashioned sex. Nine is jealous of someone putting his hands on Rose, Rose has had enough of Nine’s jealous behavior. Nine shows Rose that he is hers and she is his.

What Is Mine: An alien tries to assault Rose and Nine has to make a claim (tw: implied non-con)

Time Out: rewrite of Father’s Day with a possessive!Nine twist.

A Minute Revision: please check your feels at the door, you won’t be needing them. heartbreaking and angsty and god so good

Stern Stuff: Rose is trying to impress the Doctor by keeping up with him, despite her status as human. Gen. Angst. Excellent look at a gen nine/rose relationship and how Rose would act around him (you know, trying to be tough and impressive)

A Most Ingenius Pair of Docs: Nine/Ten/Rose with individual time for Ten/Rose and Nine/Rose. Angst and fluff and reunion.

An Education: Nine is John Smith and Rose Tyler is his trusty servant. What happens when they fall in love against all odds?

A Fic Sami Wrote for Me When I Had A Bad Day: Still one of my favorite fics.

Same as Always: Rallalon and some of the most gorgeous sex you’ll read.

The Life Fantastic: She’s back in his arms, and he is in love. There’s no use denying it anymore. It’s the strangest, silliest thing in the universe, but at the moment, it’s the only thing that makes sense. He’s in love with Rose Tyler.

Disintegration: Rose leaves Ten after Age of Steel and then some wibbly wobbly stuff happens. Lots of angst and lots of introspective Rose. It’s pretty gorgeous and I adore Nine here.

Premium Quality Narcotics (if you had to read just ONE other than Wolf Moon, it’s this one. nine/rose). Post-Dalek and a teeny tiny bit OOC Nine but he’s on narcotics, so there you have it. Plus possessive!Doctor at the end that I enjoyed. Sequel and Rest of Series

before the dawn-it goes dark on the TARDIS and then there is touching and the WORDS jfc it’s beautiful and really sensual.

I Need You: Angst angst angst. A teeny tiny bit anti-Ten but not really and a teeny bit OOC Rose. Basically Rose asks Ten to take her back so she can find Nine and vent because she feels like she’s losing Ten and it’s good and hits the angst spot

Perfume: one of those alien perfumes make the Doctor react to certain pheromones and there’s a smidgeon of angst and a happy ending

Non Linear Love Story :multi-era but i feel like everyone has read this so whatever

Paleography: Professor!Nine and Student!Rose. Rose becomes his assistant and then ~feelings~ happen (okay, technically not an entire AU but close enough and it’s gorgeous so there)

Consequences of Trust Broken: Nine/Rose and Ten/Rose post GITF. Ten finds Rose holding onto a familiar leather jacket after the space station with the fireplaces.

Sonnets Writ In Skin: Gorgeous and writing on a body kink. It starts with Nine showing Rose what her name in Gallifreyan would look like and it becomes tradition. Sequels with Ten

As the World Falls Down: Crazed!Nine and Villager!Rose. Basically, Rose hates her life, she almost never speaks and the village is pretty sure she’s an idiot. One day, she takes a walk down the path to the crazy old man of the village and they bond. (Bonus Master and cool subplots)

Tangled Up In Blue: Jessa L\'Rynn and this is so funny and fluffy and a bit angsty and adorable. Nine gets caught as a slave and is stripped down and painted blue and put in a loin cloth. Rose has to claim him as part of her harem.

Seed Pearls: Oh. My. God. Human Nine and memory loss and Rose remembers but doesn’t remember and then there’s some grandfather action and narration by a certain someone and ugh. So good.

Bodies in Motion Series: basically smut all the way through, some aren’t. fluff and angst and comedy abound.

Third Time’s the Charm: Fobwatched!Nine and Alt!Nine and also Tosh as companion and short and sweet and angsty and good. (EXPANDED FIC OHMYGOD I AM DEAD)

Hiding in Plain Sight: JFLKDSJF. Nine has been Fobwatched with Donna as his sister/companion and Rose runs into him in Pete’s World ughhhhhh. Sequels: Lunar Larceny and Fortune’s Hostage

Second Chances: UGHHHHHH. Fantastic progression of Rose and Alt!Nine. Short and sweet.

Watched Til Morning: domestic nine/rose and it’s adorable. okay sometimes i read fluff for them, okay?

Wolf Moon: Because I will literally rec this on every Nine rec list. Seriously awesome. Sequel

The Gordian Knot: When entrusted with the power of the multiverse, it sometimes helps to have a user manual. Rose makes a wish that has unexpected consequences

Strange Magicks pretty good combination of plot/adventure and romance and angst. going back and re-reading it’s not as fabulous as i first thought, but still a good one.

Bruised: Nine taking care of Rose who is hurt and stressed from the ridiculous amounts of running they do.

Wings of Gold: Nine/Rose mind bond and Doomsday happens with Nine and they have these shared dreams. Kinda cheesy but satisfying to my inner Nine/Rose shipper

Through the Storm: AU with Nine/Rose but Doomsday still happened. Except Nine meets Donna and there’s some wibbly wobbly time stuff and it’s a mash of canon and AU and original plot. Kinda nifty, really long. Set in the same verse as Wings of Gold.

Scars: Nine sees how much Rose suffers while she’s with him–scars and bruises and all.

Tipping Point: Smut and angst. Captured on an alien planet, the Doctor thinks Rose is dead. Reunion and sex and possessive!nine.

The Darkness Within: Dark!Nine. Basically a bit of Nine is left inside Ten and he’s not too happy with the way Ten has been treating Rose, so he reawakes and takes over Ten’s body. Ten is trapped inside and fights to get out, but Rose is really happy to have Nine’s personality back. Unusual fic premise, but I enjoyed it and I loved dark!nine

Illyria Series: Three years after Doomsday, Rose finds her new universe’s version of the Ninth Doctor. Rose may be running for her life, but she’s not the one most in need of rescue. Also, the TARDIS looks like a ticket booth. (I have read bits and pieces of this and liked it for the most part, but have not finished it all the way through)

Tanzania: “They think you travel all over the world curing diseases in third world countries,“ Rose said. "In Mum’s defense, she had to come up with some kind of explanation for me disappearin’ without a word for an entire year. Something besides being sold into slavery or havin’ amnesia or takin’ a twelve hour trip with a mysterious alien in a little blue box and him mistakin’ twelve hours for twelve months.” "Touche,” he replied, amused.

To Seek and to Find: Wibbly Wobbly stuff. Nine goes out and meets Future!Rose after dropping off current!Rose at home with Jackie. Cue angst and feelings

Not Just Another Park Bench: dimension hopping rose meets a very lonely/depressed nine and it is a pretty good look at their relationship

Moments in Darkness: GLORIOUS ANGST. My go-to for crying and it’s AWESOME. Just stop reading after Nine regenerates into Ten because it gets WEIRD and OOC and like just don’t do it, but all of the Nine/Rose stuff is fucking gold.

Burns: a wee bit of angst post-long game and then some smut and caring!nine

Not a Monster: sorta kinda gen but Nine/Rose if you squint. Rose wants a story and Nine tells one but there are some familiar parallels in his story

I Take the Words ‘Verse: Nine/Rose and Ten/Rose The TARDIS wanted them safe, and, through the majesty of the Bad Wolf, 

But the way she’s breathing, flushed, pupils slightly dilated, it sends his reason scurrying and logic hiding. The Doctor’s control is fraying when it comes to Rose Tyler. Watch him break.

Really good look at NineRose and their teasing nature and how that morphed into Ten/Rose.

This Alien of London: A re-write of Aliens in London with a Nine/Rose twist and rooftop kisses.

Glass Houses: The Doctor and Rose face a terrible decision when they try to help a race of dying beings. Angst. Gen.

Always in the Kitchen: PWP. He was at a party. He knew he was at a party because he was in the kitchen.

Not the Reunion I was Hoping For: Alt!Nine and Alt!Master take Rose home. Crackfic.

Rassilon’s Treatise of Talismans: ;~; angsty and fluffy and Rose finds a book from Gallifrey in a distant bookshop and gives it to the Doctor
