I get what your saying alrite and i am a bit fed up with cgi, i thought Avatar was good but the story was weak but i loved UP and honestly i would tình yêu to see that win best film, it won't happen but i'll keep my fingers crossed.
But if your talking about films that are favoured bởi the academy awards and most important award shows then bạn aren't talking about action cgi films hoặc even cartoon because the vast majority are slow drama's (not saying they are bad cos i tình yêu a lot of them) but bạn can guarantee any film about a war(The Hurt Locker) hoặc some kind of depressing hoặc heavy drama/Documentary of some important persons life will be a hot contender(whether deserved of not), sci fi,Fantasy, comedy and the like are usually forgotten in the big awards(cept LOTR), anything described as "breath taking" hoặc "epic" aka long, slow thought provoking(sometimes) is the type of film nominated.
Its only really in gần đây yrs other types of films have been được trao a chance and thats probably down to cgi and 3D an how much its improved so i wouldn't be too hard on that.CGI used in the rite way and in the rite amount is brill i'e Lord of the rings, ngôi sao trek
Thou i don't really think 3d has benefited films much. I tình yêu the princess and the frog but Up did come out a lot earlier giving it thêm chance of recognition in time for the award season.

I think 'Avatar' was fine, at least it's visual and techincal part was like a 'visual orgasm' x). I honestly did not understand the hype about 'Up'. Although, in my opinion, the most overrated movie do ngày is 'Titanic'.

They were all great movies...but I kinda of agree with bạn on the 3D & CGI thing...but its technogy and that is where the world is heading....people would rather see and experience 'real life' on the screen then actually go out and experience it for real.

I liked Up, but sometimes it got boring. The first 10 phút of the movie were the best part of it. The âm nhạc was great too. I think that Fantastic Mr. cáo, fox should have gotten thêm praise. Now that is a great movie. It's very underrated sadly. Avatar was good but only visual wise.
