has been slowly introducing the mystery surrounding Rudy Walker’s disappearance and we think it has something to do with Lila Stangard’s murder.

When we first learned about Rudy Walker in the first episode of

, all we found out was that he had a nervous breakdown and dropped out of school. At the time, we took that as a way for the writers to warn us about how tough Annalise is on her students, but now we think it’s becoming a mystery in and of itself.

In the last few episodes, Rudy has slowly begun to creep into Wes’s mind. It started off on the Winter premiere, when Wes received a Christmas card from Rudy’s grandmother. Wes couldn’t help but wonder why would his grandmother wouldn’t know that Rudy no longer lived there and hadn’t been there in almost a year.

Then, last week, Wes discovered that Rudy was arrested and, despite claiming to not know him, Rebecca was the one to call the police on him. When confronted with this information, Rebecca swiftly twisted Wes’s words around by saying that he didn’t trust her. To the audience it appears that Rebecca is definitely hiding something big from Wes.

We’re not sure how or why, but we have a feeling that Rudy had some involvement in Lila’s murder. It’s all a little too convenient that he just disappeared with no trace and Rebecca is the only one who knows anything about him.

On the flip side, the focus on Rudy could have nothing to do with the Lila Stangard murder at all, but just be a set up for next season’s mystery. Whatever the case may be, we’re definitely intrigued and want to find out more about this mysterious Rudy Walker.

I think the whole Lila plot will be wrapped up this season and the Rudy storyline will be explored next season. I think them just mentioning it early is just to let the audience know what the main mystery will be in season 2.

He has nothing to do with Lila because he was arrested way before Lila and Sam started hooking up in the summer (right?). I think the point is that Rebecca is not to be trusted – she might have had something to do with both Rudy’s arrest and Lila’s murder.

What I like about the Rudy thing is that it didn’t come out of nowhere. They’ve always shown Wes being intrigued and curious about the weird scratches on his walls and where they came from, and subsequently what had happened before he arrived with the previous tenant.
