I’ve read many lists pointing out Twilight “Plot Holes”, but thêm often than not, the lists aren’t very valid at all. Half of them are usually just complaints, pointing out something they don’t like about Twilight (Example:” Why would ma cà rồng go to high school?”, hoặc “Why does Bella have so many friends?”). The rest are just factually incorrect, hoặc can be logically theorized. These are usually followed bởi “Stephenie Meyer obviously ditched history class”, hoặc “Hasn’t Stephenie ever heard of logic?”, hoặc my personal favorite, “I would know, I had a lesson about it in high school.” I don’t really like introductions, so I’ll just get started.

(I’m not saying there are no plot holes in Twilight, but there aren’t as many as so many claim).

1.    Rosalie managed to stay wealthy during the Great Depression because her father was a banker. Basic history tells us that all the banks failed.
Sorry, but wrong.
First off, I want to start bởi saying that it was never stated that the Hales were well off during the Great Depression because her father worked at a bank. Many put far too much emphasis on the bank, suggesting that the bank was the only reason they remained well off. The fact that Mr. Hale managed to keep his job at a place that was still in high demand (which so happened to be at a bank) is what saved them.
Eclipse, ch.7, page 154
My parents were thoroughly middle class. My father had a stable job in a
bank, something I realize now that he was smug about — he saw his
prosperity as a reward for talent and hard work, rather than acknowledging
the luck involved. I took it all for granted then; in my home, it was as if the
Great Depression was only a troublesome rumor.

From the Official Guide (I can’t provide a page number, because I have the guide as an Ebook)
Luckily, the bank her father worked at stayed solvent through the stock market crash and resulting in economic downturn The Great Depression did not seriously impact Rosalie’s family the way it did many less fortunate families.

Nowhere does it say that no bankers were affected bởi the Great Depression.
For those who believe that ALL banks in America failed, and all bankers would have Mất tích their jobs, sorry, but that’s incorrect also.
According to this chart, provided bởi John R. Walker’s link

Close to 31,000-32,000 banks existed around the năm 1920 (pink). The Great Depression is commonly đã đưa ý kiến to have begun in 1929 (purple), when about 27,000 banks existed in America. Rosalie was changed into a vampire in 1933 (orange), when around 15,000 banks existed.
From 1929-1933, only about 12,000 out of 27,000 banks failed.
There is a 60% chance that Rosalie’s father worked at a bank that did not fail, and since the bank did not fail, he did not lose his job, and since he did not lose his job, he still received a steady income. The idea that every single American became a poor beggar, migrating to Florida for the bleak opportunity of landing a minimum wage job is completely false. Not everyone lived The Grapes Of Wrath.

2.    Jasper lied so he could tham gia the Confederate Army when he was 17, but 17 năm old men were allowed to legally tham gia the army.
Eclipse, Ch. 13, page 292
I was almost seventeen years old when I joined the Confederate Army in 1861.
So obviously, Jasper was 16, not 17, but there’s still thêm to it.
According to trường đại học of Houston’s link, In 1861, President lincoln announced that boys under eighteen could enlist only with their parents’ consent. The tiếp theo year, he prohibited any enlistment of those under eighteen. But heavy casualties led recruiting officers to look the other way when underaged boys tried to enlist, and thousands participated in the conflict as drummers, messengers, hospital orderlies, and often as fully fledged soldiers.
Since Jasper was only 16, he could not have legally joined the army (even if he was 17). Since it was illegal for him to tham gia the army, he lied. Simple as that.

3.     In New Moon, right before Bella and Alice enter Volterra, Alice hands a guard "a thousand dollar bill". There are no thousand dollar bills circulating to the general public in American currency hoặc in Euros.
While this is true, how exactly is it a plot hole? Just because a currency is taken out of circulation, it does not mean that they don’t exist. The government did not track down every single $1,000 bill and shred them to pieces. There are still, to this day, a lot out there and they are still valuable. They’re actually worth thêm than $1,000 since they’re collectables. They’re not even that difficult to get a hold of. Anyone could order one from link, link, Craigslist, hoặc any collector willing to sell. bạn may even be able to buy them directly from the US Treasury (but I am not 100% certain).
Also, according to the link United States currency denominations above $100 went out of print in 1945 and stopped being issued in 1969. Every single Cullen (excluding Bella and Renesmee) existed and lived in America prior to 1969. They could have gotten a $1,000 bill, hoặc any other high denomination, without any trouble at all.

4.     When Bella finds out that Edward watches her in her sleep, he says he's been doing it for 2 months. But at that point, Bella has only been living in Forks for 6 weeks.
This is not true at all. We’ll walk through it together.
According to the official Guide, Bella moved to Forks, Washington, on Monday, January 17, 2005.
Edward confessed to watching Bella sleep in Chapter 14 (Mind Over Matter) on Saturday, March 12, 2005.

Just to be sure, I’ll walk bạn through the days between.
*Mon. January 17 – Bella arrives in Forks, Washington.
*Tues. January 18 – Bella starts school and meets Edward
*Wed. January 19 – Edward is absent. (Ch 2. The tiếp theo ngày was better… and worse. It was better because … and it was worse because Edward Cullen wasn’t in school at all. )
*Thu. January 20 – Edward is absent (Ch 2 The rest of the week was uneventful … Edward Cullen did not come back to school.)
*Fri. January 21 - Edward is absent (Ch 2 The rest of the week was uneventful … Edward Cullen did not come back to school.)

*Mon. January 24 – Edward returns (Ch 2 People greeted me in the parking lot Monday morning … Edward, Jasper, and Emmett all had their hair saturated with melting now. )
*Tues. January 25 – Edward saved Bella from the van (Ch 3 When I opened my eyes in the morning, something was different.)
*Wed. January 26 – Edward and Bella avoid/ignore each other. (Ch 3 That was the first night I dreamed of Edward Cullen Ch 4 I found myself the center of attention for the rest of the week.)
*Thur. January 27 - Edward and Bella avoid/ignore each other.
*Fri. January 28 - Edward and Bella avoid/ignore each other.

*Mon. January 31 - Edward and Bella avoid/ignore each other.
*Tues. March 1 - Edward and Bella avoid/ignore each other.
*Wed. March 2 – Edward and Bella speak.
*Thu. March 3 – Bella and Edward eat lunch together, Biology blood testing and Bella gets sick. (Ch4 The tiếp theo morning, when I pulled into the parking lot, I deliberately parked as far away)
*Fri. March 4 – Edward and Emmett skip school to hunt. (Ch.5 “Won’t I see bạn tomorrow?” “No, Emmett and I are starting the weekend early” Ch. 6 I wasn’t looking phía trước, chuyển tiếp to Friday…)
*Sat. March 5 – Bella goes to La Push with friends. (Ch.6 I meant to sleep in, but the unusually brightness woke me)
*Sun. March 6 – Bella researches vampires. (Ch 7. I glanced, disoriented, at the clock on my dresser. It was five-thirty in the morning.)
*Mon. March 7 – the weather is nice and the Cullens don’t hiển thị up. (Ch. 7 I woke, for the một giây time since arriving in Forks, to the bright yellow light of a sunny day.)
*Tue. March 8 – Bella goes to Port Angeles and is confronted bởi hooligans. (Ch 7. It was sunny again in the morning. I awoke with renewed hope…)
*Wed. March 9 – Edward and Bella come out as an official couple (Ch 10 It was very hard, in the morning, to argue with the part of me…)
*Thu. March 10 – Edward asks Bella các câu hỏi about herself. (Ch 10 When I woke I was still tired)
*Fri. March 11 – Edward leaves school after lunch with Alice. (Ch 12 When I woke to the pearl grey sky morning, my mood was blissful.
*Sat. March 12 – Edward takes Bella to the meadow, he confesses to watching her sleep. (Ch 12. I woke early, having slept soundly and dreamlessly thanks to my gratuitous drug use.

Not to mention that Edward never đã đưa ý kiến how long he’s been watching her. All he đã đưa ý kiến was “I come here almost every night”, so I really have no idea where the “2 months” comes from.

5.    a) If ma cà rồng are so dense and as hard as stone, how can they di chuyển at all, b) let alone so quickly?
a)    First off, nowhere does it say all their skin cells suddenly fuse together, making them immobile. They still have individual skin cells. (The scientific term is epithelium) All skin is made up of epithelium.
Stone is not even made of cells. Stones are minerals, made up of atoms. There are no cells to be found.
b)    How can they di chuyển quickly while being dense? Well, everything dense can di chuyển quickly. Dense doesn’t mean slow.
The formula for density is Density=Mass/Volume
The formula for velocity is Velocity=Distance/Time
Velocity has nothing to do with density, and density has nothing to do with velocity.

Note: I originally had this as a question, but I guess it was too long, so I'm re-posting this in an article.

Question number one: ma cà rồng hearts don't beat, correct? Correct. I believe this is mentioned several times. Now, in health class, they teach bạn that your tim, trái tim pumps and makes your blood flow, correct? Correct. So, it stands to reason that, since ma cà rồng hearts don't beat, they don't have blood flow, correct? Yes. So, they have no blood flow, no circulation. They cannot bleed, hoặc blush, hoặc anything related to circulation, yes? Yes. This is đã đưa ý kiến several times in the book.

Now, call...

I have just tried to refute another "Edward is hot" type fallacy. I've had enough, I'm ready to puke - pardon the language - in link if I see another one. In the foreseeable future, I shall either not bother with such fallacies but instead ignore and ridicule hoặc point to this article. This applies to both sides because some Twilight những người hâm mộ and some new Harry Potter những người hâm mộ here are frequently inferring it.

I point to my trước đó article: link for the introduction.
I shall here only point out Number Six:
Non sequitur.
What is a Non Sequitur and a fallacy: I shall again refer to oxford English Dictionary...

I think chó are way better than mèo because they actually tình yêu bạn thêm than mèo do. The only reason why mèo tình yêu bạn is that bạn feed them and that is it. chó are such emotional động vật that if bạn are having a bad ngày they will come over and snuggle up in your lap and with mèo bạn have to get up and walk over to them! Also bạn might say but some chó are aggressive and bark all the time that’s only because they have been treated badly, a science study actually proved that no dog is born bad it is the owner the only reason if a dog is born bad is if it has a mental health issue but...

1.Ginny is a perfect character (“Mary Sue”), which Rowling hides bởi calling her temperamental.
2. Being temperamental is not a flaw if everyone thinks it’s cute and adorable and it gets bạn a boyfriend.
3. NOBODY can do anything productive without magic.
4. Ginny runs after a train like an idiot even though this isn’t her first time watching the train leave with her brothers. Obviously she’s watch the train leave EVERY SINGLE năm OF HER LIFE.
