I mean, it was obvious the break-up was happening, because the writers needed to give Dipper new hope, but it happened a lot sooner than I expected. My reaction was a mild "huh", and being impressed at the real-ish levels of heaviness they applied to the scene.

However, I did find it odd that Wendy didn't care a BIT that she'd been hypnotized. Really? She ONLY cares that the song wasn't original? Either that girl's ridiculously stupid and shallow, or she's hiding that she's used to the Gravity Falls phenomenon as just minor everyday annoyances. I'm hoping for the latter, because that would be way cool, and I'm sick of stupid love interests that add nothing.

Am I the only one who thought she REALLY over-reacted to Dipper offering to take her bowling? I personally feel like the only reason a girl could possibley feel the need to react THAT way (please note that I'm a girl myself..I guess I haven't exactly been in a relationship but...we're talking about Wendy, not me! :p) is if she knew Dipper liked her. I mean if she has no idea Dipper has a crush on her, then to her a bowling offer after break-up would have been a friend offering an activity to take her mind off the horrible break-up. However if she knew Dipper has a thing for her, then I can completely understand her reaction, because then it's like Dipper jumping on a chance without considering Wendy's feelings (does that make sence?) I'm not saying she had to say yes, but good grief she like exploded with anger. Was she just really frustrated and lost control or something? Or does she know Dipper likes her? Personally I think it's the second one, I think she's starting to catch on.. but I don't know, I just know my brother and I were completely baffled by that reaction to Dipper offering bowling..

^ You forget that Wendy actually LIKED Robbie. When you've just made a huge change to your life like breaking up with someone you thought you could see yourself loving, you DON'T want to go out and have fun right away. Most people like at LEAST a few minutes alone before trying to move on.

Dipper was moving in ridiculously fast and WAS insensitive. Yes, the moment showed that at least right then Wendy may have known/pieced together what Dipper was getting at, but even if she did take it as innocent, she still would be upset because Dipper wasn't considering her feelings or even noticing that she was practically in tears. She was hurting with fresh wounds and Dipper was being selfish.

WELL ACTUALLY I DIDN'T JUST SMILE. I LAUGHED AND JUMPED UP AND DOWN!! AND DANCED!!!! AND SCREAMED: "YAY!!!! NOW ROBBIE'S SINGLE!!!!!"

Robbie's just a big jerk and he obviously didn't even care about Wendy if he lied to her about writing the song for her when really he got it from another band. Whenever I watch that episode and Robbie says "Oh man." and then buries his face in the steering wheel I'm like "It's your fault." When I watch the episode Gideon Rises and he chases after her with the boombox I'm like "Give it up, dude. She's not going to take you back. You screwed up big time." And MortalAnonymous, I totally agree with you about Dipper asking Wendy to hang out RIGHT AFTER the break-up. It's like "Come on, Dipper. We all know you love Wendy, but seriously? She literally just broke up with a guy." Of course, maybe he was inviting her to try and get her mind off of things and cheer her up, but seriously it was just horrible timing.
