Sort of difficult to word this right, but I'm trying to ask: even if you didn't want her to die, were you happy with the way her death played out? If she had to die, were you satisfied with the way the show executed it?

Hmmm this is really tricky.

I don't mind her dying.

And her death scene was ok. Like it wasn't bad. I just feel like it had the potential to be a lot more emotional? It's still good. But I'm slightly dissatisfied because I just know the emotion could've been enhanced. However I think this is due to the dynamic between Jon and Dany. I tried to like it and believe it but never could. Especially after seeing true chemistry he had with Ygritte. If i believed their bond more then I think I could've been more satisfied with her death. But I didn't hate it.

Never used to like her but at the end I sympathised with her. She lost her dragons and close friends to help Jon fight the night king. She could've gone straight to Cersei and but she stayed because of her advisors and Jon. It was sad to see her betrayed.

So underwhelming. She didn't even talk after he stabbed her, I was at least excepting some sort of "Why?" or whatever. She just got stabbed and died so quickly. It felt rushed.

I actually wanted her to die but I consider her one of the most important and badass characters on the show! She deserved something much more imo!!!

Idk, overall it could've been executed better, but I think the overall stories of Dany (and Jon) are beautiful examples of tragic charctaers.

It hurts my heart to think of all Dany went through. An outcast since birth, the lack of belonging, finding a purpose and working towards it for years only to have it ripped out from under her before finally fulfilling it, the lonelieness and fear of betrayal, losing all her loved ones one by one, and ultimately betrayed by the only person she thought she could trust. She died alone and terrified, and Emilia totally sold it - I could see the fear in Dany's eyes before she died.

I really liked the dialogue between her and Jon. She starts her little reverie about how the Iron Throne was made, and Jon pulls her back to the harsh reality of the thousands slaughtered and the prisoners still being slaughtered. I don't think he went in with a sure intention to kill her - everything he said was a test, and she failed every one.The execution of prisoners, the burnt children, the need for mercy.... In hindsight, when he was begging "Please, Dany", I don't think it was just for Tyrion's sake, but also her her own sake - he really really doesn't want to do this but she's just confirming what he must do. And in his questions "what about everyone else? What about everyone else who think they know what's good?", I think he was referring to Sansa and Arya. Her responding negatively to that was the final confirmation. And the audio-visuals that come after that are pretty amazing: her embrace of a stiff and distant Jon, the music, his hand moving away from her neck and towards his sword hilt, the fact that we initially don't know who stabbed who (I honestly thought it might've been her stabbing Jon), the pain on Jon's face actually rivalling Dany's own.

I understand why people thought it was rushed and anti-climactic, but on rewatching it's quite subtle and tragically beautiful IMO.

I was glad she died, because her character has been annoying be the last season or so, but it felt pretty anti-climatic. I also feel like Jon and Dany's relationship was very rushed and lacking, so the scene felt less emotional for me...
I'd also been really hoping Arya would kill her. And after Arya being in the midst of Dany's destruction, I really thought she would have the motivation to do so, and it would give her a good reason for having gone all the way to King's Landing (since she didn't kill Cersei). I was really hoping she'd use her Faceless abilities in some way (either to killl Dany or become Dany to speak to her people), but they pretty much ditched her Faceless training after dealing with the Freys.

I thought they did a nice job reminding the viewer she can still be sympathetic and tragic and a genuinely bad person at the same time. It’s a surprisingly emotional moment held up by some pretty stellar acting, and I like how Drogo clearly gets its the throne that killed her more than anything.

I also agree that Jon was looking for anything to show Dany could come back from this and be the woman and queen he wanted to love and support, but it just became apparent she was too far gone.

I was disgusted Jon was okay with supporting a tyrant ONLY until that tyrant threatened his own family (which she had already done to Sansa several times but... okay). Seriously, Jon??

Also she got a way kinder death than any she's ever given anyone else. I'm actually ok with the manner itself I guess, but it seems unfair she gets to give people brutal deaths to feel powerful yet d&d couldn't muster their kween getting anything less than a tragic death, even after committing genocide.
