It was five-thirty PM. About a two weeks after Christmas, when most everybody's trees have been taken down, and the few trees still up are withering away and are most likely considered a ngọn lửa, chữa cháy hazard.
Monique was one of the people who still had her cây up. She and Kowalski were sitting on the couch, looking at it, and discussing if it was against the rules to take the cây to the dump, and if it was, where they should take it.
"You know, even if it is against the rules, they'll never know who put the cây there," Kowalski mused.
"That's true," Monique said, then paused. "Uh...you don't think we should take the lights off first?"
"Right." Kowalski got to his feet and began untangling the string of colored lights from the tree.
When he was almost done, the cây tipped over. Monique jumped up and grabbed it.
"Good catch," Kowalski said, helping her straighten the tree.
Monique blushed and sat back down on the couch. "Can bạn take the boxes down? The one's the lights go in? The only place I have to put them is too high for me to reach. It's that cabinet up there." Monique pointed.
Kowalski nodded but didn't go over to the cabinet. Instead he sat down tiếp theo to her.
"Um...so no?" Monique asked.
"I'll get them," Kowalski said.
Monique noticed he was leaned towards her. She felt her face flush nervously. What was he doing?
Suddenly Kowalski kissed her. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it felt like eternity to Monique. As he pulled away, she found herself wished it HAD been eternity.
"I...I've been trying to tell bạn this for a while, Monique," she heard Kowalski say. "But I didn't quite know how to tell you." He stared at the ground, looking self-conscious. "I...I tình yêu you, Monique."
Monique felt like she was walking on air. (Well, sitting on air.) "Really? I mean...you really tình yêu me?"
Kowalski nodded. A blush crept over his face.
"I tình yêu you, too," Monique heard herself saying. Even though she hadn't meant for the words to slip out of her mouth, she realized they were true. She did tình yêu Kowalski.
She looked over at him. He was watching her, a gleam in his eyes. Suddenly he grabbed her, pushed her down on the couch, and lay on her. Monique felt his lips on her neck.
Kowalski pulled away and kissed her mouth. Monique kissed him back, her arms around his neck. She felt his tongue slip between her lips. She let him Kiss her for a minute, then broke away and pushed him off of her.
Kowalski tried to get back on, but she pushed him again and sat up. Kowalski turned back to the tree, thinking that the kissing was over.
Monique got up and straddled him. Kowalski was surprised, but he didn't object as Monique kissed him again, ran her tongue over his neck and jaw.
Someone knocked on the door. Monique reluctantly broke away and went to answer it, leaving Kowalski sitting on the couch, grinning.
