All the references to the different princess movies is more of a tribute, but Giselle making the dresses out of curtains, the her singing out of no where in a breathy voice, and her being very overly perky, makes me feel it's a parody IMO

They did so many things that honored and parodied the princesses. Giselle is pretty much a Snow White/Ariel hybrid, they had references (that I know of) from Snow White, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and I guess the dragon thing is sort of a Sleeping Beauty reference. It's like Disney was saying "fairy tales come true, but not always the way you expect them to". Basically, I agree with madisonsavanna =)

Parody. Giselle is too silly with annoying voice (as real human). She's a parody of Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and Ariel. It's disgusting when she cleans Robert's apartment with cockroaches, mice, and birds.

It's a tribute. While it seems to make light of the Snow White/Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty notion of true love at first sight, that's actually how Prince Edward and Nancy hook up. It merely wasn't right for Robert/Giselle.

Robert/Giselle hook up according to the 2nd day true love formula of The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. It didn't happen all in a flash, but it still happened pretty darn quick!
