Just last week I had an appointment at the hospital and it took them hour to see me for 15 minutes! I nearly fell asleep. And there weren't even that many people in the waiting room!
They're a bit slow in dealing with patients generally...I think the paramedics are the only ones reliable!
Maybe this is just where I live though...=P

but they sometimes take a while

Any society (yes, I'm looking at you America) that will not treat a patient because they don't have health insurance sickens me. You hear about people in the States who commit awful crimes just to pay for their medical bills. I've lost many relatives to cancer, but I know they had brilliant treatment from the NHS that they simply could not afford otherwise.
No system is perfect, but it suits me just fine.

I pay 115 euros a month for it.

That's about the average for people in the Netherlands. Some people pay a little bit more (if they want to be insured for more) or a little bit less (when they have collective insurance with their work for example).

But my 115 euros is well spent. I had surgery 3 times last year, I take for around 300 euros a month of medication. The only thing I pay is birth-control. That's like 3.50 euro for three months.
(birth control is covered for anyone under 18).

MY friends do not use their insurance so much. FOr them it is more expensive. But they do not mind paying it. They do not mind paying so that other people can get help. And if they ever need meical help, there is no problem in getting it.

Yeh on the whole I think they're pretty good.

I think we should just be grateful we have it. Everyone gets equal health care.

In all honesty, I don't live in the UK, so I don't know from experience, but I wish we had better options here in the US for healthcare, and NHS seems to do its job just fine.
