To me there is Christmas as a religious holiday & Christmas as a time to gather with friends & family.

Being not a Christian myself I do not attend any religious rituals or traditions at this time of year.
Of course I have a Christmas tree at home, decorate my place and give presents to all loved ones. But these things have nothing to do with the religious holiday. Santa Clause, like we imagine him nowadays, is a product of a great publicity campaign by Coca Cola, the evergreen tree goes was used in worship and celebration of the yule god, also in observance of the resurrected sun god (centuries ago in Germany), the date of December 25th comes from Rome and was a celebration of the Italic god, Saturn, and the rebirth of the sun god...
Christmas in our day is a collection of traditions and practices taken from many cultures and nations.

So, weather you celebrate Christmas mainly as a religious holiday or as a time to gather with friends & family, I wish you all a merry Christmas or happy holidays! ;)

You can be any religion and celebrate Christmas. I'm not Christian, I don't have a religion. But I do celebrate Christmas and every other Holiday out there except Hanukkah since I'm not Jewish.

Of course. And I would be happy to share my Savior's birth- I like the meaning of Christmas-to me it is what makes it so special and feel so special...not just comercial and tinsel & glitter but the whole purpose of goodwill is nicer than none -for ANYONE to take pause and be a lil more loving or kind. (merciful)

Many Christains celebrate pagan holdays and some do not even know that most things have PAGAN -not Christian origins and roots.... some don't care. I care, but I believe in sharing too :D

I have to be honest ......on one hand I can see why people who arn't Christians, celebrate Christmas. After all It is the season of good will etc.

On the other hand though the main reason for Christmas is to celebrate the birth of "Jesus Christ",and given how Christmas is a lot more commercialised these days.... feel like sometimes that reason gets over looked. Also If I didn't believe in Jesus, then I wouldn't celebrate Christmas in any shape or form.Just my point of view :)

In America! Not to be rude but... Americans lost the meaning of Christmas, it's celebrating birth of Christ! Christ-mas. And it's ok if ur not Christian or religious! Where I come from we take our Holiday seriously! It's about celebrating birth of Christ. I don't know about atheists, they I think just celebrate with their families but not religiously? If your a not Christian religion then you don't celebrate Christmas because it's a traditional religious holiday!
