I have more of an omega in me than an alpha. Alphas do too much work and I don't like work, so I rather play and be lazy like an omega.

i dont think alpha do much,usaly its the others that have to get the food and that for the pack then the alpha eats first for doing nothing so its an easy life to be an alpha

Alphas are mostly the ones with the most strength and knowledge, they control pack movement and decisions, their usually the most experienced hunters and pup raisers. Omegas are suppose to be mostly just their offspring.

As an Omega, I'd play Halo all day

God dammit! How many times do I have to explain this!? In this movie, there's only 2 ranks, Alpha and Omega! There's no Beta or Delta! And in this Movie, Omegas don't even have it bad!

WHOA..ok...in REAL life...there are only 3 ranks in a pack...Alpha, Beta and Omega...I study wolves..Omegas ACTUALLY make up for 80% of the pack, I dont see 80% of any pack dieing. omegas are NOT bullied, thats just a misconseption, omegas do eat last, but they dont starve! I've never seen a wolf driven to starvation in a pack. the so called "bullying" ISNT. Dominate wolves never show aggression withought provocation, the only time is when feeding and thats just to make sure its known. Pack are generally peaceful. Omegas even have jobs, to encourage the more dominate members to not be aggressive they show puppy like behavior and actually work as "peace-makers". They also babysit pups while the pack goes hunting. Being an Omegas isnt total Hell like most people THINK it is.

I've been reading this one book, there aren't Alphas or Omegas. The ranks are comfusing but the lowest rank is a gnaw wolf. After it was abandoned and found by another pack it had the lowest rank because the pack didn't want weakness. Then are the Obeas which are females only. Then Subleutanants err, however that's spelled. Then Leutanants then Captains then the Sark, only a single wolf can be a Sark throughout 4 wolf packs the there's Lords (Pack Leaders) and at the very top Chieftains (Clan leaders)

ok...im sorry Uriah...thats a book, my boyfriend is reading it..and its not based on real wolf pack structures...my information comes from scientific documentaries and the many wolf books that i own. Also the directors may not hav mentioned it, but the movie Alpha and Omega actually does have Betas, one of the movie's books mentions it, it says that those two wolves that helped Kate hunt were Betas. Which makes sense.

The dominance in a pack is a serious business, at breeding season the omega is evicted and often killed. If an omega gets in the way, it is bullied. A female wolf is called a femmora and when she is preganant (she-wolf) the omega male is more of a distraction, but she does make him useful. The alpha male and the omega work together to hunt for her when she is contracting. A female contracting is called a 'Fae' and an omega becoming bullied, evicted or killed is called a 'lui'.

The omega is usually the youngest in a litter, the weakest, and the most submissive, In childhood there is a female and male that starts to dominante its littermates, and this is where they improve on dominancial strsuctures, tail rasing, and a sharper tone. As they become teenagers, they are pushed around by their parents and the most dominant of the litter fight their mother and father. If they lose, they are evicted by the dominant female. The pack is mostly omegas because they are less of a threat. they have a more submissive quality and are slighty a bit like servants. A hungry omega may submit to a dominant so they can give them a share- but they are first painfully scent marked by a scarred muzzle, and then if lucky, after they do a good deed, they are fed. If this carrys on though, the omega becomes more dominant. So if you see an alpha wih a scarred muzzle, you know their past...

In no book or documentary about wolves have I ever heard the mention of a Delta...also, i dont need to be taught on terminology, and challenges can happen. But not often.. never have i seen a wolf pack full of scars and blood...the pack works WAY more peacefully then you think. Wolves dont all want to challenge and be Alpha, a pack wouldnt survive well, if it was constantly at war with each other. Members eventually find their place and live very happily with their rank.. Also, during the breeding season...the female is in charge, the alpha and the omega dont team up and take turns on her! Wolves mate for life, She woudlnt allow the omega a chance. and a Wolf family isnt made of a king and queen with a bunch of servants! i dont know where you got that kind of impression. and didnt you hear me before? Alphas never BULLY they discipline! and its NEVER unprovoked! if That omega is being disciplined its because hes stepping out of line of his OWN accord and trying to be more dominant. Bullying doesnt exist in a wolf pack, THAT is a human invention.

She is right in what she said. Wolves have 3 main ranks, Alpha, Beta, Omega. They do not operate like some king or queen hair-achy. A wolf pack can't be brutal the way you described, otherwise they would die out. Wolf packs are well organized, structured, and relatively peaceful. They only growl at lower members during eating, displaying their dominance, and then if the lower member does not submit they are punished....end of story. It's not a given rule that an omega must receive a scar. *snorts* you need to get yur facts straight. I've watch MANY wolf documentaries, read MANY books, even observed some. Learn your facts before you go off telling people false information. If you've received awards fur yur long paragraphs, then perhaps YOU are the reason wolves have such a bad rap. Some of yur info is correct, but most is false.

no....boltsno1feverfan is NOT correct and no I am NOT disneygirl. You all need to get your facts straight about wolves, and perhaps try watching documentaries. Write all the papers you want, you've researched them wrongly. Try looking on American databases if you want correct information. I've studied them for years, as well as having done presentations on them, debates concerning them, and lengthy research essays based on real information. To top all that I've studied canine psychology, as well as wolf social behavior. During breeding season, the alphas mate. There MAY be challenges, but these are rare and usually come from lone wolves, or rival pack members. Also the alphas are yes...more severe in their dominance, just to reclaim their breeding rights and remind the pack of them, but that doesn't last long. A pack has to be peaceful to survive. The female is mostly playful and flurtatious during this period. There is dominance and the alphas aren't afraid to show it, but it's not a constant battle with penalized scares and so forth. Why don't YOU look online.....all of you who say we're wrong. Everything is there. I'll even give you links!

BEFORE PEOPLE START RANTING: I am aware that this movie seems to have has no beta or anything (but I think somewhere it does, it's only subtlely mentioned or something). In fact, I'm pretty sure this position doesn't even exist in real wolf packs. (They mostly consist of the two parents, the new offspring, and the offspring from previous litters. I think the beta may just be the more/most dominant offpsring from earlier litters.) I just like this stance in the heirarchy (sp?), it doesn't have to be "real". If this position exists, it's what I'd want to be.
