I 100% agree.

Not only does TB reinvent the vampire genre (making vampires public knowledge, as a minority group) but it also goes a step further as a parallel to real minority groups ("coming out of the coffin" lol) giving it a very satirical yet deeper meaning. Also vampires are once again scary bringing them one step closer to repairing the damage that Twilight left.

While I happen to like Twilight, I just don't see it as a vampire story or a story about vampires. It feels like a falling in love story where some characters happen to be a vampires. Now True Blood on the hand is full on vampires. I mean come on they still bite humans, you can't get anymore vampire than that.
