End of Chapter 14
Bella took a deep breath and looked down at her hands as she nodded.
"How long has this been going on?" I asked.

Chapter 15
"No Alice, the vampire didn't leave...not all of them anyway. That's the whole trouble. If it weren't for the werewolves, Victoria would have gotten me bởi now. Well, if it weren't for Jake and his friends, Laurent would have gotten me before she could, I guess so..." Bella explained.
"Victoria? I hissed between my teeth. Laurent!?"

When Bella started talking I knew that she was leaving pieces out, the way that she bit her lip before beginning. It was almost as if she were deciding what to tell me.
She told me about how she had been spending most of her time in La Push, the reservation just south of Forks. That she started hanging out with Jacob Black, who was a family friend. How they had spent every waking moment together, rebuilding his old Volkswagen. I cocked my head to the side, the idea of Bella helping anyone with a car was not believable.

How she went to La Push and Jacob thought she should meet the rest of the pack. When she đã đưa ý kiến that she turned white as a ghost, and bit her lip so hard I had to push her slightly so that she wouldn't bite through it.
She skipped the rest of that story, and đã đưa ý kiến that the rest of the pack were very nice. She đã đưa ý kiến tried to describe everyone to me, and I pretended I was interested in the whole thing. She took a deep breath before she continued.
"Jake was sleeping and I got tired of waiting for him, I looked for something to do and remembered the cliff diving. I decided I was just going to go, I wasn't sure it would be that hard so I thought I could do it alone." She đã đưa ý kiến quickly.
"I jumped off the cliff, the free fall was amazing. It felt like I was flying." Bella đã đưa ý kiến as she smiled.
"Wow Bella." I đã đưa ý kiến as I took in everything she told me.
"The weird part...ok there are lots of them but the weird part with being in the water was I swear I saw ngọn lửa, chữa cháy floating on the water, I wasn't sure what it was but I'm beginning to think the color is the same as Victoria's hair." She finished.
"Our leaving didn't do bạn any good at all, did it?" I asked quietly.

I glared at her, how could she think that? She was the entire reason that the whole family left, the reason that... I had to cut my thought off, I was getting upset again.

I watched her closely as she tried to gain control of herself. I noticed that her eyes were thêm sunken, she obviously hadn't slept in a while. That her whole being was different, she seemed like a broken person, someone who hadn't seen anything good hoặc happy in quite some time. That broke my tim, trái tim thêm then anything, knowing that I had something to do with the reason that who Bella was at this point is my fault.
"You look like hell, Bella."
"I drowned today." She reminded me as she tried to smile.
"It goes deeper then that. You're a mess." I stated rather matter of fact.

Just then the phone rang and Bella jumped and ran to the phone, excited to see who it would be on the other end.
