The curse goes away when a new hunter rises. After Connor died, Jeremy became tiếp theo in line. For Jeremy to officially become a hunter, he had to kill a vampire hoặc hybrid. Damon found out from Professor Shane that any vampire who kills one of the Five hunters are haunted bởi the hunter that they killed until a new hunter is activate. So since Jeremy was already a potential hunter of the five, Stefan took him over to Klaus's house to kill a hybrid (Tyler's friend Chris) and activate the hunter's mark. So that Connor will no longer haunted Elena.
