I don't consider either Lacuna Coil hoặc Evanescence to be Symphonic Metal. Evanescence seems thêm Modern Alternative Rock while Lacuna Coil seems to have thêm of a hard rock/metal (alternative) edge to their music. Apocalyptica seems thêm geared toward symphonic metal. though they maybe thêm avant garde type of band since they use cellos.
