Demi Lovato & Selena Gomez rekindle their friendship with a sweet exchange!

It looks like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have officially buried the hatchet.

The former Disney stars spread the love on Twitter on August 21st when Selena sent her ‘Princess Protection Programme’ co-star a very sweet message to celebrate her 23rd birthday.

“I’m so grateful you were born,” the ‘Good For You’ singer tweeted Demi on her big day, adding the very sweet hashtags “#nomatterwhat,” “#forever” and “#haveTHEbestbday” alongside a heart emoji.

Proving that any bad blood between the twosome is now firmly water under the bridge, Demi then replied to Selena’s message on her own Instagram page, tweeting out; “I’m glad you were born too…” alongside “#nomatterwhat” and “#forever.”

Though it’s not clear exactly what inspired the former besties to rekindle their friendship, it looks like the former Disney babes are on the right track to be our favourite besties once again.

Despite becoming notoriously close after they first met whilst auditioning for roles on ‘Barney And Friends’ way back in 2002, cracks started to appear in their relationship as the two shot to fame on their respective Disney Channel shows in the late 2000’s.

Though we don’t know exactly what happened between the popstars, in 2010 Demi notoriously replied “I dunno, ask Taylor” when a fan asked her how Selena was doing. Though we don’t know if the star was referring to Selena’s then rumoured boyfriend Taylor Lautner or her famous friend Taylor Swift, it was pretty clear that the ladies’ relationship had turned pretty frosty.

Just last year, the ‘Cool For The Singer’ made it pretty clear that she and Selena were no longer best friends after she infamously unfollowed Selena on Instagram. At the time, Demi defended her decision to click the unfollow button on Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens Live’ telling host Andy Cohen, “I think it’s just one of those things where people change. People grow apart.”

But one year after the social media break up, it looks like Demi is now cementing her intentions to rekindle a friendship with the ‘Monte Carlo’ actress, as she just re-followed Selena on the photo sharing site.
