What is a famous saying hoặc phrase that has always confused you?

for me it'd probably be "I'll slap bạn into tiếp theo week."

I mean I understand it I just think it's stupid. If bạn slap someone INTO tiếp theo week then that obviously means you'd have knocked him unconscious to the point where he won't wake up till the tiếp theo week. On the other hand if bạn threaten to slap someone TILL tiếp theo week, they would be far thêm compliant I'm sure.
