If your depression is severe, it might be necessary to try a medication just to balance out your state of mind. I, too, am speaking from experience. Is there anyone bạn can talk to? That usually helps as well, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a counselor, therapist, etc. As another người hâm mộ wrote, try other activities. Esp. exercise--that has been shown to alleviate mild depression. Same w/volunteering. Please don't feel you're alone with this.
