I was one of those people way back when, when any type of mythology book about vampires, shapeshifters, ma sói and Những câu chuyện về rồng made me want to read them, but since Meyer's books, it's been blown out of porportion.

Don't get me wrong, I own the box set, read and re-read them and watched...umm, like half of one of the phim chiếu rạp and then I saw "Vampires Suck". Now that was ingenious. That movie alone drew out the main ultra bad plot-links and other stuff I couldn't follow very well, because I was tricked that Twilight was going to be a horror book: instead of the drama, queen-teen hearthrob romance it turned out to be. Of course. She has managed to become one of the world's most famous writers because of Twilight. She has created a world where blood sucking ma cà rồng are cool and... well, sparkling... The whole vampire-culture ha been turned up side down just because of her.
I don't think Twilight is that good. That has nothing to do with how she writes, but how the world is responding. The Host is amazing, and it is my favourite book. And I read Stephen King, Dan Brown and Ken Follett, I should know what I'm talking about.

Her characters are boring and unoriginal. (No, Meyer, self-hatred is not an original trait.) In Twilight, it's like plot hole heaven hoặc something. The stories are oftentimes anti-clamatic. Twilight is... cliche. Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl go through rough patch, but live happily ever after. The actual nghề viết văn is... awful. She spends too much time describing things repetitively, things that don't always even matter, both in Twilight and the Host.

I don't like how most of the book is describing how Edward looks (In Twilight, obviously.) And I've only read the first book in the series, but I don't want to spend my time đọc how he looks. I like thêm epic things, where lots of stuff happens. Most of twilight was just her thinking about Edward with small conflict every few chapters. James appeared about halfway through the book. No, not at all.

Twilight was.... mediocre. Average. It wasn't "bad", but the characters were cliche and quite boring. And there were several plot errors in it. However, as an aspiring writer myself, I respect any piece of literature and anyone who has taken the time to put it down on paper, no matter how cliche hoặc unoriginal.

One thing that puzzles me is how Twilight got to be the big franchise it is. It is pretty unoriginal. And compared to franchises like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, which were both very unique and intriguing series, it looks completely dull. The fate of the world didn't rest in anybody's hands, only one vampire family, a werewolf, and some boring chick's happiness. And there was no climax, no goal, no point. And I was bored đọc it. Yes, personally I do. And I say this because I have read all four of the Twilight books. I believe she is a very talented writer, after all, she is the tác giả of four bestselling books.

I think what some people have a problem with is the plotline. They dislike the idea of it, hoặc story and it's details (note the great thảo luận of shimmering skin. Hey! I like things that sparkle!) but they don't actually pay attention to how well written it is hoặc the rest of the author's role.

Ugh, no. I think her nghề viết văn is terrible. She did no research on anything when she started writing. Examples: She knew absolutely nothing about ma cà rồng when she wrote it, she's never even been to Forks, and clearly, she had no idea about the Great Depression in the 30's. Her characters are unoriginal and boring. They are too perfect and it's just annoying.

P.S.S. Funny thing is, my homeroom/science teacher brought up the Twilight sách during Writing. Probably cuz we were discussing points of view, and it's Bella's point of view in the books.

I can't say she's a great one, but I won't completely condemn her on that. Since she has just started writing, and admits she's inexperienced and therefore is evidenly not diễn xuất like she's the shit. :I

Sure, she has the ability to write beautiful stories, and I'm sure she could even write thi ca if she tried.
But she sucks at coming up with original characters.
In the TWilight Saga:
-Bella is a serious Mary-Sue
-Edward is a stalkerish idiot
--(Bella is okay with this, and that's not good)
-Rosalie seemed to be out of the sexist regime for a while, until her story came out in Eclipse
--(Alice seemed like this also until New Moon, when her "obsession" with fashion started to get annoying)
-Half the characters don't even have fatal flaws, as if they're perfect human beings
And there are just too many errors in her nghề viết văn to mention on here. I've heard The Host was a pretty good book compared to every other piece of trash she's written, but I'm just afraid I'm going to get let down again, so I'm not going to read it.

In the marketplace, she is an excellent writer, because she produces not only wildly best-selling books, but she produces them quickly. Socially, she can be called a good writer, in that she makes many people (who didn't read before) want to read. Culturally, she's a good writer in that she has changed a lot of the dialogs about vampires, teen entertainment, and tình yêu stories. On fanpop alone, there is a very large amount of critical discussion about Meyer's books. The book publishing industry has changed to accommodate many thêm stories "in the vein of" Meyer's sách (people like the idea of a formula), which wouldn't have happened in the same way without Meyer. Similarly, the films based on her sách have done monster business for both the film and trang chủ video industries, as well as spawned an apparently unending amount of parody in all media. A writer could do a lot worse than try for this kind of influence. Are the stories well-crafted and reflect a mastery of plot and the English language? I don't think so, but in virtually every other respect, Meyer's nghề viết văn is a gigantic success. It's a good writer who manages to do all that without the benefit of skills in the craft of writing.
