The starter pokemon for the dex holders rotate in there types.

Main male: Red (Grass)-Gold (fire)-Ruby (water)-Diamond (grass)-Black (fire)

2nd Male: Green Oak (fire)-Silver (water)-Wally/Emerald (grass)-Pearl (fire)

The pokemon adventures manga will do some crazy things to ya. It will make your eyes spread wide because it is so different from the anime we watch when we were children.
