Sam Heughan, as Jamie Fraser, and Caitriona Balfe, as Claire Fraser, in Outlander
OUTLANDER\'S Ron D. Moore has spoken about the possibility of a third season of the hit Starz series.
The cast and crew, including main stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, are currently working on Season 2 of the show in locations across Scotland.
While the second series isn\'t expected to air until spring 2016, fans are already anticipating whether a third season will be commissioned.
Now, Outlander\'s executive producer Ron D. Moore has revealed they are in talks over the third season.
When asked if there will be a third season, Ron told BBC Scotland: "I\'m very hopeful. We\'re talking about doing a third season now and I\'m pretty sure we\'re going to get it.
"I\'ll be shocked if we don\'t but you never know until you actually do it."
The news is likely to excite Outlander fans across the globe, who can\'t get enough of the hit show.
Ron also spoke about how Season 2 was being filmed and revealed the story will be split between Paris and Scotland.
He said: "The majority of the shoot is in Scotland. The story is about half in Paris and the second half of the season returns to Scotland. So for the Paris section what we did was built as many of the interiors as we could at our sound stages in Cumbernauld.
"So there\'s Parisian apartments and salons and drawing rooms and that sort of thing which we would build. And we also looked at the surrounding area to see what other houses or historical buildings might have interiors that we can play as French.
"But for all the exteriors when we have carriages going down the streets in Paris, there\'s nothing like that here and even Paris doesn\'t look like that anymore. So we went to Prague and shot there for almost two weeks.
"It just looks like Paris and it\'s easier to sort of edit up and make it believe. It\'s called cross-boarding and we just took the scenes that were for exterior streets in Paris and we just shot them together at the same time in those two weeks in Prague."
