Pete Wentz: One Direction Turned Down âm nhạc From Fall Out Boy

Maybe Fall Out Boy should try 5 Seconds of Summer instead?

One Direction has been moving toward a rock sound lately, and Fall Out Boy has certainly been moving toward pop. According to the

\'s interview with FOB bassist Pete Wentz, the two bands weren\'t able to meet in the middle. 

"Last time we were in London we wrote with the guys in One Direction," Wentz admitted. "It was a great session but I don\'t know if Fall Out Boy writes what One Direction wants to sing."

It could have been a sight to behold, but alas, Fall Out Boy\'s hyper-referential lyrics and sample-heavy studio rock might have been more than the more traditional lads in 1D bargained for. There\'s no telling what the music might\'ve sounded like, but a track like "Uma Thurman" would have definitely sounded out of place on One Direction\'s 2014 album,

For the record, Ed Sheeran is one superstar One Direction did wind up collaborating with; the singer-songwriter co-wrote the track "18." On the pop-punk tip, some alleged that "Steal My Girl" sounded a little too much like a New Found Glory song. 

Wentz continued, "We\'ve evolved, so we still get to play shows with pop acts like Meghan Trainor and Iggy Azalea… We are always the odd ones at the party because we are clearly not a band that was put together. But hopefully we are a band who enjoy a pop moment."
