Christian Bale will not play Steve Jobs

Even though Aaron Sorkin only recently declared that Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs in Sony’s upcoming biopic, 

is now reporting that Bale will not take on the role.

‘s sources, Bale, “after much deliberation and conflicting feelings, came to the conclusion he was not right for the part and decided to withdraw.” A source told 

that Bale was always just in talks for the role and confirmed 

This marks another set back for the Sorkin-penned biopic, which Danny Boyle is attached to direct. Leonardo DiCaprio also decided not to play Jobs, and negotiations with David Fincher to direct collapsed when the director reportedly asked for $10 million in fees up front and marketing control, 

In an interview with Bloomberg in October, Sorkin said that the role of Jobs is “an extremely difficult part and [Bale] is gonna crush it.” Just last week

confirmed that Seth Rogen is in talks to play Steve Wozniak in the film.
