Lorelai the first is Richard's mother but she is thêm commonly and affectionately know as "Trix". Lorelai Victoria Gilmore is named after her ("Trix") and is the only one of the three Lorelai's to actually keep the name in it's whole without shortening it. The third Lorelai is Rory - her mum named her after herself in the hospital - and as such gave her the nickname of Rory as not to confuse themselves.
