Why are so many người hâm mộ characters female?

Umm.... this reason is thêm likely the thought process of those that make god awful OCs but my theory is that people make OCs just to ngày the characters and RP in the Hetalia-verse all under the guise of 'There needs to be thêm females in Hetalia bạn guiz!'

Now this isn't how everybody who makes a (female) Hetalia OC thinks. So here's theory two which I think is thêm realistic-ish. Some people probably just see a Nation as being female, either because of their name hoặc because of an important female figure(s) from there. Examples I've heard of in the actual series are a thiết kế Himaruya was planning hoặc something for a Czech Republic who he was going to make female because the Japanese name for the country sounded feminine to him (though this is according to a variety of Hetalia Wikis) and Vietnam who's based off 'the tough women in her history' hoặc something. So yeah, not everybody who makes thier Hetalia OCs a female are not doing it for the hell of it hoặc for the lulz hoặc to RP and ngày characters and I think bạn get what I'm getting at.

But if bạn notice:
thêm được ưa chuộng the series = thêm bigger the fanbase
thêm characters of a specific gender = thêm OCs that are the opposing gender
And I think Hetalia's VERY large amount of female những người hâm mộ in general come into play as well, since some females will be thêm comfortable creating a character that's the same gender as them, oh, and most girls in the Hetalia fanbase tend to be teens. And most teen girls I've met think boys are like aliens hoặc something, so they'll probably think that they won't be able to 'write one properly'

Though there's still truckloads of bad male OCs (usually because they're made bởi a Yaoi fangirl hoặc something who despises the Hetalia girls), not as many as the female side but yeah....

I think the reason there are so many female OCs is because of who the Hetalia fanbase is made up of. There are definitely far thêm female những người hâm mộ than there are male fans. I think it's a way to project themselves into the story.
Don't get me wrong, I like Daydreaming about what it would be like if I was in Hetalia. Any người hâm mộ in any fandom will tell bạn they've done the same at least once. But not everyone goes out and creates a bunch of female characters. Some are rather creative and interesting, but unfortunately, it's difficult to find a story with a good female OC. Many are Mary-Sue type characters.
I do have a couple of OCs, one of which is a female. But my reason behind that is her personality wouldn't have fit a male at all. She wouldn't have turned out very well if she was a guy. It also makes for a nice contrast between her and the male character.
So, we all have our reasons I suppose.

From what I've gathered, it's because the creator wants to create a "Self-Insert" character to pair up with their yêu thích Hetalia character.
