I was a pirate one năm and I was also concerned about looking too trashy. So what I did is instead of wearing a short skirt. I wore ripped kaki, khaki shorts with fishnets under them paired with calf-high boots. Then I had a black áo sơ mi with vàng embellishments and a red and white striped torn-to-pieces over shirt. Topped off with some smokey eyes (think pirates of the caribbean)and braided pieces of clothe and beads into my hair. Along with a cute hat, you'll be set.
