of laziness when it comes to the way it treats its villains. They range from interesting to downright bonkers. Time and time again the series has proven that it\'s completely unafraid to take risks with The Dark Knight\'s most notorious rogues, and with the third season of the polarizing series about to premiere that tradition seems alive and well. Season 3 of
will introduce two of Batman\'s (literally) biggest enemies, and they will be unlike anything the series has ever seen.

TVLine\'s Matt Mitovich was at TCA and revealed (via Twitter) that
\'s third season will introduce iconic DC bad guys Cyrus Gold a.k.a Solomon Grundy, as well as Waylon Jones a.k.a Killer Croc. Specific plot details remain scarce at this point, but it appears they will come on board as a result of the experiments conducted by Hugo Strange (BD Wong) at Indian Hill during
\'s second season. Like many Batman characters that have premiered on the Fox series, Croc and Grundy will take the form of "proto" versions of their comic book selves, meaning we will likely see their very specific origin stories as the series delves further into the Court of Owls narrative.
Both undead zombie Solomon Grundy and the mutated Killer Croc have experienced major surges in popularity over the last few years. Another "proto" version of Grundy appeared on the second season of

has added more and more villains, their respective debuts have seemed more and more likely over time. We\'ve definitely come a long way from the grounded crime drama of Season 1.
The deluge of information didn\'t stop there. The folks behind
eventually plan on expanding the rogues gallery to include Joker\'s iconic girlfriend. That\'s right folks; we are going to finally get a chance to see Harley Quinn on the small screen at some point.
Details regarding how Harley Quinn will come into existence remain even scarcer than the ones surrounding Grundy and Croc.
has already played incredibly fast and loose with the mythology of the Clown Prince of Crime, so it seems likely that the show will swing for the fences when it debuts Harleen Quinzel. To say that we\'re excited would be a major understatement.
With the promise of more iconic Batman entering the fray during
\'s third season, our anticipation has officially reached sky-high levels. Fox\'s Batman prequel series will return on Monday, September 19 at 8 p.m. EST.
