Blair calls Serena in the middle of the night to talk with her about what happened with Chuck...(I know some of the transitions are pretty choppy and it needs to be fixed....but this is a rough draft and I wanted to know what bạn thought. ;p)
“S, can we talk?” Blair Waldorf sniffled into the phone line.
Serena flipped on her light switch. “Yeah, B, what’s going on?” She rubbed her eyes. “Are bạn okay? It’s 2 am.”
Her breathing quickened. “Can bạn meet me somewhere?” She wiped away her tears.
“Can’t it wait—“
“No, it really can’t!” she hyperventilated. “Please. Serena,” her voice lowered.
Serena nodded. “I’m coming. Where do bạn want to meet?”
The blonde pulled on her coat, slipped on some shoes and called a cab. On her way out, Chuck stopped her.
“Where are bạn going at this hour?”
She spun around. “What are bạn doing trang chủ so early?” she questioned, with a small smirk on her face.
He sighed. “I was just wondering where bạn were going. I’m off to bed,” he nodded.
She looked at him, confused. She wanted to prod him thêm for questions, but she held back.
In the darkness Blair sat on a bench in the middle of Central Park. She shivered in the cold. Every memory of her and Chuck going through her mind and across her heart. She was crying, had been for hours. She knew it was the right thing to do. Chuck wanted her, and badly. He loved her, but that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt when he pulled away from her and walked out of her life. Okay, so maybe he didn’t walk out of her life, but it felt like every part of her was torn away when he walked out of her room. She had sighed, she had cried until there were no thêm tears left….and she was still crying.
“Hey,” Serena touched Blair tenderly on the shoulder from behind. She jumped.
“Oh, bạn scared me, S,” Blair said, wiping away some thêm tears and taking her best friend into a tender hug.
“What happened? Tell me everything,” Serena said, taking a ghế, chỗ ngồi tiếp theo to her.
She sighed. “He came by.”
“Oh my god, B, that’s great!”
She sighed again, with a hint of happiness to her comment. “Yeah…” she looked up at her with tear-filled eyes. “We admitted things…”
Serena’s eyes widened.
“without actually admitting them. And then and then….” Her breathing quickened again.
“What is it B? bạn can tell me,” she said, taking her best friend’s hands in her own.
She exhaled. “He doesn’t want us to be together, because he thinks we won’t last.”
“Oh Blair,” she brought her head to rest against her own. “I….I don’t know what to say.”
She smiled slowly, a sad, beautiful smile. “It’s okay…I just wanted to tell you, I guess. I’ve been crying for the last couple hours.”
There was a long pause.
“I know it’s the right thing to do, S. I mean, he didn’t say never…he just said, not now, but god, I tình yêu him so much. I really do. And I miss him, I want him so bad.” Her cries grew louder and louder now, and she couldn’t even speak anymore. Serena just held her and rocked her, not knowing what else to do hoặc what to say.
After a good twenty minutes, Serena begged Blair to come trang chủ with her and as much as she was against it, she eventually gave in. On getting to the VanderBass home, Serena wandered into her room, setting things up for Blair. She didn’t even notice when the brunette didn’t follow her, but kept walking into Chuck’s room.
He appeared to be sleeping. At least the lights were off…that much she could tell. Blair went and sat at the edge of his giường and gently stroked his hair. She sniffled and tried to keep quiet…but after a few thêm moments of this repeated action, Chuck couldn’t help but be awoken.
“Blair…” he whispered. He turned his body towards her. “What are bạn doing here?” she asked gently.
“I couldn’t stay away,” she sighed.
He closed his eyes in order to stop the tears. “Blair…”
“No, I know. I agree with everything bạn đã đưa ý kiến tonight. I just…I…I…was crying, and I…”
His eyes grew concerned. He wanted to hold her so badly, but knew that would mess up everything he had told her that night. He started to reach for her though and she put down his hands. He sat up again and it took everything in her to let go of her hands.
“Serena begged me to stay the night, didn’t want me to be alone like this.”
He sighed, and nodded. She got up to leave and he watched her, his tim, trái tim breaking with every step she took.
She stopped just before the door and turned to look at him. They stood staring into each other’s eyes for what seemed like eons. Then, she ran to him and he held her in his arms.
“I tình yêu you,” she cried into his shoulder.
“Oh god, Blair…” he clung to her and pulled her closer to him, unwilling to let go.
“I know, I know, I should go….I shouldn’t do this….” She tried to get up slowly, but he pulled her back down and just held her.
“This isn’t the end of us, blair. Don’t ever forget that.”
“I won’t. I promise I won’t,” she cried into him.
He pulled her back, so he could stare into her face. “You’re not another girl. You’re my girl and I swear to god there will be nobody else until it’s our time.”
She nodded and then her head sunk back into his arms.
The door opened momentarily and Serena poked her head in. She sighed softly and shut the door, leaving the two alone in their tragic intimate companionship.
There they lay, knowing very well that this could be the last time they shared such a tender moment for a long time.
“I’m scared, Chuck,” she whispered to him. “I’m scared of not being with you.”
The tears flew down that face. “That won’t happen. I’m still gonna be here, and even if we’re nothing thêm than friends…until the time is right…I will never leave your side, and I promise to god I won’t sleep with any other woman. You’re the one I want.”
She stroked his hair tenderly. “Really?”
He smiled. “Yeah. Besides, you’ve được trao me mechanical problems, remember?”
“Oh yeah…” she smiled and sighed contently when he pressed his lips to her forehead. And then they slept, slept peacefully and with the contentment that morning would come, and they would always be together…in some form hoặc another.
