i can not believe that george clooney made this awful film THE AMERICAN a total flop!!!!

It is a pity perhaps that Clooney did not "make" the film..according to Roger Ebert it has some merits but I agree with you.... it failed to hold my interest and suffered from, among other things, a lack of back story and a plot in which nothing significant happened...but it did have an art house feel with its diminished colour palette and arty shots....I left the movie theatre disappointed.
