i love the silly random books they are so fun to read

I agree, their awesome. I like the books with the messages too, though. So many books that try to send a message are annoying or preachy. Dr Suess's aren't like that at all, their hilarious and entertaining AND they have a message.

I don't know. I never differentiated them like that exactly. The ones with very obvious messages are always right on anyway, so it doesn't both me that they have a lesson/moral...they're not preaching in an annoying way...

The plotlines were amazing even when I was a kid, but when I got older and reread them, they were just... wow.

I was somewhat furious when the pro-life people started trying to use Horton Hears a Who as some sort of symbol for their cause... I mean, the poor guy must have been rolling in his grave.
