Always believe the victim leads to something like the Salem witch trials. The unfortunate truth is; some people lie and it ruins truly innocent lives. Of course the downside is that some truly guilty people get away with it too. :/ But I feel safer knowing that if someone accused me of robbing them, that I have a chance to prove that I didn't instead of just getting locked up.

Sometimes peoples can play the victim and manipulate others with act like a real victim.

Actually, honestly I know it is. Especially on topics like rape and such.

The thing is ypu should still believe the victim but not blindly so and not in a way that you act upon until its proven. I guess the better way to say it is to not completelu dismiss them, maybe support them to speak out and not assume they are lying, but also not to act as if someone is guilty.

false dilemma. also "innocent until proven guilty" is a legal principle; it's meaningless and stupid applied outside of court.

It is possible to hold someone as "innocent" until proven guilty and believe the victim at the same time.

As one who solves complex he-said-she-said arguments and petty crimes on a daily basis (elementary school problems), I can attest to this from experience.
