Back when I was a kid watching giáng sinh specials on TV, Mrs. Claus was invariably portrayed as a sweet but dowdy older woman of slightly plump stature. She could cook a mean pie and reminded bạn of your Grandma. Of course, we loved her and so did Santa.

But did bạn ever wonder what Mrs. Claus might have looked like when she was younger? I mean, I assume she must've be smokin' (natch).

So why is it that so many of the classic holiday programs hiển thị us a Santa Claus surrounded bởi androgynous little elves and a matronly Mrs. Claus? I mean, it's cold up at the North Pole. Surely Santa isn't adverse...

If bạn believe in god hoặc bạn don't, it is always a special ngày for families and Những người bạn to hiển thị how they really feel about one another, either this being thực phẩm fights, real fights hoặc praying for the less fortunate, spend it as a way that is special to you.

Living in Australia, i have always had sweaty, hot christmas'. giáng sinh morning spent with my mum and in the afternoon, it is spent with my dad. This is all that i have basically known, i am just grateful that i get to spend one of my most favourite days of the năm with my whole family.

O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree!
How are thy leaves so verdant!
O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

Not only in the summertime,
But even in winter is thy prime.
O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

For every năm the giáng sinh tree,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
O giáng sinh tree, O giáng sinh tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

Each bough doth hold its tiny light,
That makes each toy to sparkle bright.

If bạn want to wish "Merry Christmas" to someone in Greece, then bạn should say: Kala Hristouyienna.

If bạn want to wish "Happy New năm " to someone in Greece, then bạn should say: Kali Hronia.

For "Happy New năm Day" in Greek bạn should say "Kali Protohronia".

If your friend is called Manolis hoặc Hristos, his nameday is on December 25 (Christmas day). Wish him "Hronia Polla" (Many Happy Returns) for his nameday.

The same applies if your friend is called Vassilis, Yiannis hoặc Fotis. Vassilis nameday is on January 1, Fotis' nameday is on January 6, Yiannis' nameday is on January 7.

During giáng sinh holiday period, which lasts from December 24 until January 6, plus a couple of weeks past that, it is a custom in Greece to wish "Hronia Polla" to the people bạn meet. So, if bạn meet someone in the morning, the proper way to greet him hoặc her is: Kalimera, Hronia Polla! (Good morning, Many Happy Returns).

Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Since I had done with my favourite giáng sinh films, now it's the famous Oratorios composed bởi famous classical composers.

1) The Messiah bởi George Frederick Handel

This oratorio premiered in Dublin, Ireland and it's the first oratorio to be performed in English. Which was unusual at that time.

2) Alexander's Feast bởi George Frederick Handel

Although this oratorio is link to Alexander the Great, it's âm nhạc sounds very giáng sinh oriented and it is highly recommend for both giáng sinh and Handel những người hâm mộ alike!

3) St. John's Passion bởi Johann Sebastian Bach

It's dramatic âm nhạc will not only celebrate...

I really think giáng sinh is a magic time of the year! Even though I am starting to grow up (I am sixteen), I always become a little child again when giáng sinh is near, and go playing in the snow, waiting for Santa (Dad) with my little, and big, cousin, baking, meeting near and dear and just enjoy the moment and life.
I mean, do bạn really do that in the same way any other time of the year? Because I dont think so...
And the giáng sinh music- wonderful! :)
I think people in general becomes nicer when Christmas, and for a season to have the power to make people nicer- that I call pure magic!!! :D

The shepherds went their hasty way,
And found the lowly stable-shed
Where the Virgin-mother lay:
And now they checked their eager tread,
For to the Babe that at her bosom clung,
A mother song the Virgin-mother sung.

II
They told her how a glorious light,
Streaming from a heavenly throng
Around them shone, suspending night!
While sweeter than a mother's song,
Blest thiên thần hearlded the Saviour's birth
Glory to God on high! and Peace on Earth.

I’ve been an Angel all year,
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all
The thực phẩm I’ve missed.
Think of all the items on
My people’s grocery list.
They really have been
Mean to me.
It takes a lot of food
To feed a cat like me!

Santa Kitty,
Slip a sữa bowl under the tree
For me.
I’ll stay up for you, dear
