My Life in France bởi Julia Child with Alex Prud'homme
You must know Julia Child bởi name if not bởi reputation. The cook of all cooks. The woman who revolutionized American household kitchens; she entered the trang chủ bởi TV and left us groaning, having just gorged on prodigious French food. Since everyone was so positive about my last article, I decided to make it a series of sorts. Different themes, maybe one bài viết a month. I am 23 and I still tình yêu all of the following books. Let's all recapture youth! As always, these are in no particular order.

1. The Neverending Story bởi Michael Ende
This is one of the few fantaisie novels that isn't an entire series. Not to offend anyone, but I do not like...

Who Am I?

“Paula, you’re a very smart and unique person. But also mysterious. In a good way.” She replied.
“How am I mysterious? I mean, I never thought of myself that way.”
“Because you’re always so quiet around people. Not around me, of course. It’s like bạn shut yourself down completely, like bạn don’t want them to know who bạn are.”
“But bạn know I’m very shy! Besides, I’m not very good at socializing, bạn know? I always make myself sound like a total freak!
“Hey, bạn asked for my...

For a lot of people with chronic disease, the inability to work is a difficult and frustrating reality. Contrary to common misconceptions that not working must be "nice." hoặc must be like taking an "extended vacation," the lack of a job for medical reasons can have significant consequences on a person's sense if identity--not to mentions finances and interpersonal relationships.

Writer Randy Jernigan recently shed some light on this reality while he was a guest on Donny Max's 'Lets Talk About It' radio program out of Seattle. Randy, who has been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure, Chronic...

*A person in the "questions" section asked if they were "too old" to read young adult novels. They wanted to know "how old is too old"? I presume that a lot of adults ponder this question, hoặc feel ashamed of đọc young adult novels instead of "adult" novels. This was my answer, and I hope it will help you, too:

I believe that any adult can share in the joy and experience of losing yourself in a good book; whether it's a young adult novel hoặc not.
Young adult novels usually revolve around themes that attract the tween/teen ages, but this does not mean that these themes do not also attract adults,...

The Know-It-All: One Man's Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World bởi A.J. Jacobs
Just for the heck of it, one ngày A.J. Jacobs decided to read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica, all thirty-two volumes. Surprisingly his details about his adventure is quite amusing and he does share some very interesting tidbits from the EB. hoặc as Jon Stewart says: "The Know-It-All is a hilarious book and quite impressive achievement. I've always said, why doesn't someone put out a less complete version of the encyclopedia? Well done, A.J."

(original title: Essere Gentile)

A book to read as a soul provider – if bạn are in a state of confusion, conflict, in quest of wisdom hoặc in reach for soul comfort – hoặc all…

A leading transpersonal psychologist reveals the unexpected secret to a happy life: behaving with kindness.

Statement of Intent: If bạn read to the end, you'll notice that I do not advocate against đọc Twilight, just putting it into context for young readers. This was originally written for a Facebook audience of Những người bạn until I decided to post it here as well. It was not intended to offend Twilight những người hâm mộ hoặc readers, but to simply give a little perspective on why I believe Edward Cullen is a poor character to respect/admire. Should there be enough được ưa chuộng demand, I'm willing to write a similar bài viết about Bella Swan.

This was a book báo cáo that I wrote for my English class. If you're thinking of đọc the Hunger Games, I suggest that bạn look at this...

The Hunger Games is a very được ưa chuộng book among teens my age. It’s basically about a sixteen-year-old girl named Katniss whose sister (named Prim) was chosen to compete in the Hunger Games, which was an annual tournament where two children from each District (there are 12-ish) are forced to fight to the death on live television. Katniss apparently really loved her sister hoặc something, because she volunteers to go in Prim’s stead.
