Yah, they're right. Shikamaru out-smarts Hidan and sets up a paper bomb trap. Hidan gets blown up into pieces, literally, bởi the trap and then Shikamaru buries him in a hole out in the middle of his family's forest. Since Hidan is immortal, yeah, he's buried alive.
