New headcanon: Sherlock isn't really socially unaware/awkward when it comes to the girls that John dates. He just acts like that because he realized John will eventually find a girl to marry and di chuyển out. Not in a he-wants-to-be-a-couple way (unless bạn like that), just that Watson is about his only friend & he knows that marriage would mean not working together as often. So he acts like he does about them to try to stop that from happening. (Wow this sounded way less crazy in my head) Thoughts?
