Joseph Warren cursed himself. He knew that he should have killed him. But he couldn't bring himself too. He always thought Kim-Jong was evil but he learned quickly that he wasn't evil, just misguided. Joseph wasn't cruel hoặc evil either he just fought for what he believed, and he believed that everyone should have rights and they should get it through peaceful means. But as usual, getting your rights through peaceful means is impossible. Ever since Hannah was killed, negotiating humans rights with the Chinese, he knew that the only way they could gain freedom for the people was through violence.
Colonel Jake Cushard was shaving his bushy mustache inside the American embassy in Hong Kong. He knew hostilities in China were high, but they would never dare attack an embassy that wasn't in their land. But just in case, soldiers have been increased in his area to repel off any chinese invaders. The American embassy in China had already fallen, which was expected. But while other soldiers were tense, and expecting an attack at any moment, he was perfectly calm. A calm soldier kept a calm mind that would be ready to be used at any time.
Of course, the other soldiers had good reason to be worried. An unusal amount of Chinese soldiers have been reported along their border. He really didn't think they would come and all he truly had his mind on was getting trang chủ to his wife and his new born daughter. His 6-month-old baby was growing fast and becoming thêm and thêm fun bởi the day. Little red wispy hairs were appearing on her head, she had the same colored hair as he did. But his was curly and she looked like she would have straight red hair. She got that from her mother. Her mother, Kaira, was a beautiful brunette. With shining green eyes that shone like emeralds in the moonlight. Jake sighed and knew that he still had two weeks left before he would return home. Jake set down his razor and went back to his usual business. Ordering troops, taking reports, and filing the reports.
A couple phút later, Private Kenith Gordon came into his room with a calm, but yet fearful look in his eyes. Kenith saluted and adressed his colonel, "Col. Cushard, there are reports of chinese crossing the border into Hong Kong. They are quickly approaching the embassy."
"OK, well Increase patrols and" Jake was about to say when the Private cut him off quickly and stated, "There is some else sir," Pr. Gordon đã đưa ý kiến in a thêm serious voice, "There is also an intelligence báo cáo that China may have joined up with Hong Kong in military efforts." Now fear slipped into Pvt. Gordon's voice, "Sir, with the combined efforts the embassy will fall."
The col. thought over what he had just been told.
"What do bạn suggest private?" The Pvt. thought for a moment, and đã đưa ý kiến confidently, "I would suggest that we launch a counter-attack on the Chinese. They don't know we know they're here yet, so I believe we should use that as an advantage."
"Very good," Col. Cushard congratulated, "I'm glad that we have smart officers like you, some soldiers would have đã đưa ý kiến to make a direct assault on the Hong Kong military forces. But bạn knew if there is any hostile relations between the government and us, it just make matters worse and wouldn't help us in the long run."
The soldiers were interuppted bởi a large explosion from outside. Screams from civilians and soldiers yelling orders was the only thing Jake could hear. Fear clutched at his heart, but not his mind. He knew he would need to keep his mind straght during a battle. Things calmed down for a moment and the col. thought maybe it was a small attack. Until the gunfire erupted. It came from everyone. So loud his ears started to ring.
"Private Gordon, call in seven men now!" he ordered, "Take up defensive positions in the parlor! The embassy cannot fall!" After spitting his orders to his soldiers he picked up his standard issue assault súng trường and spat some rounds out at the invaders from a broken window. He noticed that soldiers were running everywhere, and many where dieing. He knew they were going to lose but he had to fight to the death like he promised the ngày he officially became a soldier in the United States army.
Chinese soldiers burst through the door with their súng blazing. But Colonel Cushard had been smart enough not to place his soldiers in front of the door. Instead they had taken up their positions to the left of the door where they easily picked off the invading troops.
The col. had thought that maybe they could hold it long enough when a huge explosion feet away from his troops rocked the embassy, leaving a huge hole for stray bullets to fly in and tons of debris flying around everywhere. A steel beam fell and crushed a soldiers back, while a frayed wire swung down and and left a huge gory gash in the back of another one of his men's neck. An anti-infantry bullet tore pvt. Gordon's pinky finger apart. Jake couldn't let this happen, he wouldn't let these men die, they had wives and families to return too. Just like he did. Jake released a spray of bullets on his enemies, he saw four fall down. He continued firing into the crowd of attackers, ordering his men to do so also. Col. Cushard saw his friend, Collin get his throat slit into a bloody smile. Anger rose up in Jake as he fired seven shots into the soldiers head.
Jake realized he was losing, as thêm of his soldiers fell down and his men protecting the embassy were pushed farther and farther back. He was running low on ammunition, as were his troops.
phút had worn on and he knew it was no longer worth the fight, all of his soldiers outside were either, dead, captured, hoặc injured.
"Surrender!" the col. ordered to his men. He threw his gun to the ground and rapidly placed his hands over his head and got down on his knees. The remaining four men followed their colonel's example. Horror sunk into Jake as he realized he had Mất tích his station that he had sworn to protect with his life, and he realized that he would probably never see his wife hoặc daughter again. A slow solemn tear slipped down the side of his face.
