Rion
I listened as she told me that she was pregnant, and running away from Arizona. I immediately offered to let her stay with me, and at first she refused, saying she didn't want to mess my life up, that she just wanted me to keep silent. I insisted, telling her I'd pick her up when her flight landed, whether she liked it hoặc not.
She's like a sister to me, and if she needed help, I'd come and give it.
I hung up, sighing. I had lots of space. Heck, my apartment had three extra rooms with on-suite bathroom. Why did she think it was such an issue?
My thoughts were interrupted as my timid assisstant scurried into my office. She was trembling.
"Tanya, what is it?" I wasn't in the mood for this. My most gần đây case was particularly stressful. How the hell do bạn get a man convicted of kidnapping his own two children from his ex-wife during a custody vist, then hiding out for six years in Los Angeles, out of a life sentence? Someone up there must live to make my ngày difficult.
"I'm handing in my two week's notice. I just got another job offer, and I'm taking it," she stuttered.
"Yes, yes, whatever," I muttered. Fantastic. Now I don't have an assisstant.
Granted, Tanya often dropped things if I made a loud noise, and was prone to hyperventilating, but she was good at accounting and organisation.
"Thanks," she said, sounding light headed and bemused.
"Not a problem."
Now, I just needed to figure out some way of laying the blame on the ex-wife.
Then there it was: Elizabeth Jenson had been an alcoholic for four years before she and her husband were divorced.
Maybe, just maybe, I could twist it around that he feared for their safety and so, kidnapped them.
Maybe this could work out.

This is written about the perfect silence only found in the dead of night, and the feelings it inspires.
The tiêu đề comes from the mô tả a friend of mine gave when we were stuck in the middle of nowhere at midnight and I found it sort of beautiful.
Enjoy (I hope) :)
Weighted air and winking stars,
darkness draped, tension wrought.
This night, this hour, is ours.
Silence chimes unspoken thoughts
that choke my mouth.
Silver moonbeams in glittering outline
surround you, and in our youth
this night, this hour, we intertwine.
I'd tình yêu to hear what bạn like hoặc hate.
Thanks for reading.
