Welcome, new Potterhead! You've come to the right place. Beedle the Bard is the alleged author of many of the most popular Wizarding bedtime stories. He can be compared to the Muggles Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, as he collected fairy tales. Unfortunately, we can't really tell whathe looks like. The only surviving woodcut shows he had a very luxurious beard.
At some points in Wizarding history, the Tales have been challenged. "The Wizard and the Hopping Pot" was most recently challenged by Lucius Malfoy for its fair treatment of Muggles. Mr. Malfoy demanded that the tale be removed from the Hogwarts library, as he didn't want his son Draco reading such rubbish. Headmaster Albus Dumbledore refused, prompting Mr. Malfoy to cast aspersions on Dumbledore's sanity.
