In the end of the Catching ngọn lửa, chữa cháy book what does Katniss mean when she says that Haymitch was lying about Peeta??

"i think of haymitch's sneering at my plans to flee district 12, start my own uprising, even the very notion that district 13 could exist. Subterfuges and deceptions. And if he could do that, behind his mask of sarcasm and drunkenness, so convincingly and for so long, what else has he lied about? I know what else.
'Peeta,' I whisper, my tim, trái tim sinking."

bởi the way, I just received a response to an email I sent to Scholatic's Customer Service Dept. asking about the final book in the trilogy. They are not sure - it might take another year. But I noticed from Suzanne Collin's Underland series that she often completed the final sách in less time than the trước đó ones. Let's hope history repeats itself! I am very worried for Peeta, I must say! Hopefully, she doesn't make a martyr out of him! Real life is tough sometimes, but we all hope for a happy ending here. Just for fun, I wrote my own short sequel - bạn better believe I let poor Peeta escape and get back with Katniss! There should be a site where we could đăng lên our own versions of the ending.

Katniss means Haymitch lied when she made him promise, when the reaping was announced for the Quell, that this time he would try to keep Peeta alive in the arena instead of Katniss. Later, we realize many of the other tributes had agreed to die if necessary in order to keep Peeta alive, and that they were trying to protect Katniss as well. Haymitch knew Katniss would never trust any of the other tributes hoặc form alliances with any of them without Peeta. Peeta himself pointed out that Haymitch made the same promise to both of them during the bờ biển, bãi biển scene at the end. I think Haymitch wanted Peeta to be rescued along with Katniss, but it had not been possible, because the Capitol captured him first. I have my fingers crossed for Peeta!

Katniss really needs to make up her mind tho when it comes to Peeta and Gale. While I was đọc both of the sách I was hoping she would choose the right one! ^^ I kinda am leaning towards Peeta tho.....

She thinks that Haymitch lied about caring for Peeta. He didn't really care, but he needed him for the uprising. I think... that is just how I interpreted it.

I think what she meant when she đã đưa ý kiến that haymitch has been lying about peeta is when he agrees that peeta should be the one to win the hunger games season 2... =) and the one he will focus on keeping alive.

That particular quote is about Haymitch having lied throughout Catching ngọn lửa, chữa cháy when he expressed doubts about the idea of District 13 having survived and any rebellion plans standing a chance. Then at the end, it suggests that Katniss suspects he may have also lied when he promised to protect Peeta in the arena.
