Is there any part of THG movie that bạn thought was done better than in the book?

For me, it would definitely be the exchange between Peeta and Katniss the night before the Games ( when Peeta says he doesn't want the Capitol to 'own' him ). In the book, I found Katniss' response to Peeta to be quite shocking. Essentially accusing him of thinking that he's better than everyone else and then storming off!! I Mất tích a fair bit of respect for her after that and didn't like her for quite awhile. It was typical, immature teenage behaviour from someone who, based on the trước đó chapters, I had come to believe was thêm insightful and level-headed than a typical teenager. Later on; when she finally admits that initially she didn't understand what Peeta meant I was thinking 'so bạn bit the poor guy's head off just because bạn were too narrow-minded to comprehend what he was saying?'

Thankfully, the movie handles this exchange MUCH better, IMO. Katniss' response of not being able to afford to think like that is thêm like the kind of response I would have expected from her.

It's not a matter of being immature; Katniss' view is different from yours because she's actually living in the Hunger Games environment. She grew up being told it was just one of those things, and that nothing could be done about it. For her, it's a part of life, something that she doesn't know anything different for. What growth did they leave for her character to grow into?

I do get what you're saying even if I may not agree with it. I do have to ask though; why do bạn think Peeta was capable of having such insight and Katniss wasn't? Afterall, they have both been exposed to Capitol propaganda from ngày one and yet Peeta wasn't prepared to just accept " this is how it is". Same goes for Gale.

Peeta didn't have to survive the way Katniss did. I think if Katniss' father hadn't died it would be a different story, but because he does die, she was left to take care of her family. That's the only thing she concerns herself with. The people who come up with rebellions and ideologies aren't the ones living ngày bởi day, they're the ones who have a comfortable, stable life. Katniss turned into someone who only cared about what directly effects her, because that's who she needed to be to survive. Worrying about if the Capitol is right hoặc wrong, if they can be defied will only cause her problems.
