The Fanpoppy Awards 2009 Nominations - Closed

Nominations are now closed, however I'm leaving this stuff here to make it easier for re-writing this next year. There's no point reading all of this though (unless you're future hooch)

Scour the 'pop in search of the finest... erm, stuff! Below are the list of award categories, although if there are a lack of nominations the category will be removed (so make some last minute nominations if you want to keep a category alive). Anyway, nominate whatever/whoever you believe to be the best and deserving of a Fanpoppy in these categories!

Nominations will close on the 19th at midnight GMT (which is also Fanpop time)


Now Nomin... wait for it... ate!

Also, Fan Made videos can be nominated for best video and best fan made video. Oh, and all categories for Best Spot that get only one (and possibly two) nomination(s) will be grouped together and just make "other" (so let's say if Debate, Cats and Fanpop were the only ones nominated from their channel, the categories for those channels would be replaced by "Best Other Spot" consisting of those three.

Nominations will close on the 19th at midnight GMT (which is also Fanpop time)

EDIT: Read the "Possible Nominations" forum for ideas.

ANOTHER EDIT: Don't nominate yourself (althlough when it comes to voting you can, if you can live with it) and only two nominations per award category per person.

And in case I wasn't clear enough, the best Fan Made Video award is for only fan made ones, best video can be made by someone else and only found by you, or it can be fan made, that way there's a bit more emphasis on Fan Made content. (debs commented with the idea in the award categories forum iff you want to see what she wrote.)

Well, Kat, I'm assuming it has to be before the 21st February because I think that's when Hooch said the Fanpoppy Awards were on.
But I guess we'll 'ave to hear from the man himself ...to be sure,lol!

Well, I guess that voting will have to start on the 20th actually, which means the deadline will be the 19th, midnight Fanpop time, which appears to be GMT. However, I'm not sure if I'll be on long enough after midnight on a thursday (I have school :'( and I have to type this bit because a sad face followed by a closed bracket looks like this :'() to tally all the nominations and write a soapbox announcing them, so I guess Bliss or Dazl will do that, probably Dazl (she did it last year), anyway, like I said, midnight of the 19th, and once the nominations are up you can vote (the soapbox will also say who to send nominations to).

Best Spot in the primary channel of television: Scrubs and (even though I'm not a fan of it you have to admit that the fans are awesome) House MD.

Also, Misanthrope messaged me about advertising, and it seemed like a good idea, but to keep things fair I think that we could do with advertising in all major spots, and it would seem spammy if I went onto spots that I wasn't a fan of and started advertising the Fanpoppies, so I thought that we could try and get as many spots as possible advertising them by using users who are ans of those spots as well as this one, so could you try and get some people from other major spots on here to make the Fanpoppies bigger and to keep it fair in terms of numbers from certain spots.

Hey,Hoochy, I just submitted links to 4 different spots but now it's refusing to let me do anymore.
Everytime I go to submit, it comes up: "thanks for your enthusiasm but how about a new link."
What's that mean? Is that a warning of some kind?
'Cos I tell ya, if I get banned for spamming just before the awards, I'm gonna be one pissed witch!

I guess there must be a limit to the number you can add to the same URL, four is probably enough if some other people also add links in other spots, or you can just cheat the system and give a different URL (like you could do this spot four times, followed by this forum, followed by page 2 of this forum) four times, but with all of the users already involved doing even 2 or 3 spots, we'll have every regularly visiting user before the nominations close

I've had an idea to make sure every award gets enough nominations, with a couple of days left, I'll put up a full list of all the award categories and how many things have been nominated, with the ones with the ones where there aren't enough nominees in bold, that way, you know what to look for for last minute nominations.
